The older I get, the longer grows my list of "things that annoy" me. Bumper stickers is definitely one of those things. Although I know that all car-owners have opinions, I just don't want to have them in my face.

As long as they are not crude I actually enjoy them. Of course I spend 2 hours a day in traffic

When I was young and had junky cars, I used to use them to cover the "bad spots". Now that I'm older and can afford a decent car, I'd never put a bumper sticker on it. I do hate the bumper stickers that say "My Child is an Honor Student at..." It always gives me the feeling that the driver feels their child is superior to all others. (And I HAVE an Honor Student myself).;)

I thought your question was going to be if we want/like them on our own cars. My answer there is a definite NO. I would never put a sticker on something as important/expensive as a car, plus I think they look kinda tacky. I was very put off by the fact that I had to get a small square parking sticker on my back window in college (that and the fact that they charge a small fortune for it!!!). They were very specific about it, and you could not tape it on from the inside, it had to be permanently affixed from the outside in a certain spot.

I couldn't care less if they are on other people's cars. They do not annoy me. Other than thinking they look out of place and tacky on the back of people's bumpers, I find them somewhat interesting to read, especially if you are stuck in traffic. :)

Funny you should mention that, grinninghost -- my son made honor roll this year, and was so proud to give me the bumper sticker that he received as a result. I wear it on my bumper proudly -- I don't do it because I think my kid is superior, but to show my son how proud I am of him and how hard he worked to receive that honor. :)

In my younger days I had a "Pro Choice" bumper sticker, but I had a lot of rabid Pro Lifers try to run me off the road, so I removed the sticker.

I don't mind seeing some bumper stickers (esp if they're funny!) But I HATE them on any car that I own! I've told my 2 DSs that as young male drivers that they shouldn't add any more reason to pull them over with bumper stickers that may insult or show any kind of a strong opinion. IMHO, a car is no place to initiate a debate!

do window clincgies count? I have one for a Christain raido that I listen to, other than that I have a God Bless our troops little small sticker on my bumper. Those are the first ones Ive ever had.

As long as they arent crude I dont mind reading them on someone elses car. What relaly bugs me though is when kids are learning to read and they read someones ( crude) bumper sticker and say " Mommy what does ***** mean?" I hate that!!

Funny several of you mentioned the MY CHILD IS AN HONOR STUDENT AT.... bumper stickers. My daughter brought one home from school yesterday. Starting in 7th grade, if your child makes the honor roll for all four quarters, then they receive one of these bumper stickers. The problem is I can't decide if I want to put it on my car or not. Whenever I see these stickers on other cars I get an uneasy feeling, like the parents are bragging or something. But on the other hand, my daughter DID work hard and earn the sticker and I want her to know that we're proud of her, so I feel we should display the sticker. I can't decide what to do!?!

I don't mind stickers on other cars, as long as they're not offensive. I had a honor student window cling on while my daughter was in middle school. I like the window cling idea, then you can take it off when they are no longer in that grade. I have a small Harley Davidson window sticker in the bottom of my back window. It's got a little baby blue in it that matches my car. It was per my husband's request. Makes the car seem a little less girlie. I don't put actual bumper stickers on my car.

Funny story about a car with an honor student sticker. We were at Walmart this weekend. A car parked next to us, but it wasn't in a space. It was parked in an area that had yellow stripes through it, at the end of a row. Not quite enough room for a car, but close. A little economy truck was parked there, and it had an honor student sticker on it. One of Stephen's biggest pet peeves is people parking where they shouldn't, motorcycles parking on the sidewalk, stopping in front of a store with your flashers on to wait for your friend, etc. Going to a parking lot is very stressful for him. Anyway, he took our Walmart reciept and wrote a note asking the driver to ask their honor student how to park, and put it on their windsheild. I asked him if he felt better after the note, and he said yes.

I think everyone deserves a good chuckle once in a while, and some bumpers stickers can do just that .............make you chuckle! :p

I personally would not put a bumper sticker on my vehicle, but some of the ones you see on other peoples vehicles do make you laugh. I have a brother that races stock cars, and I do have 2 decals on my rear window ~ a #9 and our team name. Those can be removed if I choose to!

Too funny about your hubby getting mad in parking lots..........it drives me crazy when people cannot park in the lines or choose to park where they know they are not supposed to. I am a "just park and walk person", and I laugh when I see people driving around and around to find the closest parking spot. Geesh ~ ~ ~ if they would just park and walk, they could have been done with their stop in the time they were driving round in circles!! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

OK Snoopy, you've convinced me to join the other side. I guess I never thought about the "honor student" bumper stickers that way. I promise to change my evil ways.;)

i don't mind bumper stickers. we have a AAA one and a parking sticker on our car. we also have a couple of window clings.

as someone else mentioned, i spend between 2-4 hours commuting each day and looking at funny bumper stickers or license plates is just one way to pass the time, LOL.

Bumper stickers do not bother me, I rather enjoy the witty ones. There is a popular series here of a boy "peeing" on various things, I do not like those. Also, the "honor student" ones, I ignore those, I mean to me that kind of stuff is personal and none of my business or interest, but am in no way offended. I have Tinkerbell on the outside of my back side window (on the drivers side). It is like a white outline sticker with the wand and little stars, but is definately "stuck" to the window. Is that the same as a "cling"? I love it and get compliments on it. But actual stickers on my bumper - no, I do not have any.

I don't care for bumper stickers. Some of them are cute, but I think they make cars look junky.

That said...

My DS recently brought home his "Honor Student" bumper sticker, and he is very proud of it. I have a feeling it will eventually make it to my car. :)

I don't mind them...but often I find myself hunched over the dashboard trying to read them! They can be quite a distraction.

I would never put one on my car, I think it cheapens the car. I don't mind window stickers though, for some reason. Northeastern University sent me a window sticker with my letter when I got in and the first thing I did was proudly display it on my back window. :)

I cannot STAND pro-life bumper stickers. Just a pet peeve of mine, but the ones that I have seen are really quite offensive. Putting a message like that on your car will not change my views on things...but it does annoy the heck outta me.

I get annoyed by the bumper stickers with that boy peeing on whatever as well. Very tacky!

And I do not care for all the other crass and rude commented ones either.

We do have bumper stickers on both my minivan and DH's car.
Well, actually, they are on the back window.
DH has Nascar stickers with his favorite driver.
And I have a couple Nascar stickers, a big Mickey sticker, a couple Harley stickers.

We own & love Dodge's. I have a huge Mopar sticker.
My license plate also indicates our love of Dodge.
I've come to the conclusion that my vanity plate and the Mopar sticker tends to aggitate young males causing them to try to race me and my minivan. Or cut around me quickly. We refer to my minivan as 'the intimidator'. LOL!! :teeth:
In December of 2001 I was rear ended, while sitting waiting my turn at a stop sign, by a man in a new Ford pickup.
When I was finally able to get out of my minivan he told me that he was looking at my stickers and license plate when he hit me.

Stickers can be a hazzard.......trust me!!!!
Especially for the brain dead. ;)

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that really made me laugh. I'm sure you've seen the bumper stickers that say "visualize world peace", or "visualize world harmony". Well, I saw one the other day that said "visualize using your turn signals". That got a laugh out of me. :D

Personally, I believe in the freedom of speech and if someone feels they need to use their car to get their point acroos, so be it. On my cars, however, NO WAY!!!!! DH is a car fanatic,it is his only hobby, vice, obsession call it what you will. There would be a royal rumble at my house if the thought of defacing one of our precious vehicles ever dared to cross my mind. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I have two magnetic bumper stickers on my car and they are both Disney!!!!!!I would NOT use the non magnetic ones OR non Disney ones!!!!

I also have a small static cling of the American Flag that Burger King sold just after 9/11.

I also have the fish that is the Christian symbol that is on my trunk.(That one is permanent!!)

Maybe it is tacky maybe it is not. I have thought about taking the Disney ones off but I love Disney so much it is hard !!! The one honoring 9/11 and my faith will stay.

I would never put one on my car but I do look for funny ones while stuck in Houston traffic. Here is one that had me lmao recently uh no pun intended on the lmao:

"Unless you are a hemmroid, get off my a@@
