Sock, sock, shoe, shoe?
Sock, shoe, sock, shoe?

I did sock, shoe, sock, shoe just now and it drove me crazy!

Does anyone remember the All in the Family scene with Mike and Archie? Mike said, socks then shoes, Archie said one sock one shoe in case there's a fire. Then he can hop around on one foot while Mike stood outside in his stocking feet!:rotfl:

Right sock, left sock, right shoe, left shoe. If I do it any other way it just feels weird.

Yes, I remember that episode. That show was always hilarious.

You took it to a higher level-right first! I was looking for the scene on YouTube and although I didn't find it I spent 10 minutes watching the episode where Edith dropped a can of cling peaches (in heavy syrup:rotfl:) on someone's car and left a note with her name and phone number.

I could go back and spend all day watching all the clips.:goodvibes

I keep my socks in my dresser and I get dressed in the bedroom. My shoes are by the door in the living room. So I usually put my clothes and socks on, then grab my shoes right as I'm ready to leave.

Sock sock shoe shoe.

A few days ago, I was getting ready to go somewhere and I just wasn't thinking about what I was doing. I'd put my socks on, then one shoe, but I did it in autopilot and thought I'd forgotten a sock, so I thought I lost it! I spent 10 minutes searching for that sock, even blaming the dogs for taking it. I finally realized it had been on my foot all along. :lmao: What a maroon.

:rotfl: That's hilarious!! I never put shoes on until I am walking out the door so I'm a sock sock girl. Almost flip-flop season though so soon no socks:thumbsup2

I always do sock-sock, shoe-shoe. If I'm going to be wearing shoes that need socks, I usually put them on as I'm getting dressed and then when I'm ready to leave I put my shoes on and walk out the door.

Loved that show! I think of that episode regularly when I put my socks on!! :lmao:

Actually, I believe it was the other way around. Archie and Mike had to share a bedroom for some reason, and Archie was criticizing the way Mike was putting on his socks and shoes (sock, shoe, sock shoe). Archie said the right way to put it on was socks first, so that his feet stay warm if there's a fire. Then Mike says that his way would keep his foot dry in the rain.

I have no particular order. I also prefer not to wear socks at all if the weather is even close to warm enough for bare toes.

I despise socks, they are the devils invention! I rarely wear them (I try to wear sandals as much as possible) but when I do, it's sock-shoe-sock-shoe.

You may be right! I wish I could have found it, but I would have watched those clips all day long if I continued. I really miss that show. There is one video of all the "suicides" that Archie mimed during the shows. Remember those? Not only was Carroll O'Connor a great actor, his mime was pretty good, too!

Left sock - right sock. Left shoe - right shoe.

Kind of like One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. But for feet.

:offtopic: - I remember that episode. That was a great show. No way it could make it on air today, too politically incorrect for how sensitive society is now. But it really explored some important issues for it's time.

FWIW, sock, sock. shoe, shoe.

I was really young, about 4 or 5, but I remember my parents watching it. I guess I watched it just a little because growing up I did know and was familair with the characters. Jowever, because I was 4 or 5 and the show went off the air soon after that, I can't say I watched it a lot.

However, a number of years ago, I caught an ep on Nick at Nite. I am almost 34, so I was around, oh, 28-30, I'd say when I caught this ep and it made me cry. I was lying in bed, just silently weeping.

The episode was the one where Edith wanted to buy Archie some gift for his birthday. I think a new TV or something that cost a bit of money and so she went to the bank to get a personal loan for the money. However the bank would not loan her the money because she was a woman. Soory I cannot remember who played Edith, but her acting in that episode was obviously very powerful if it had me crying. And that show occured around the time I was born (up until I was 5 or 6), but it made me realize just how much times have changed on 30+ years and what women can and cannot do and how they are thought of (of course there are some who still believe this way....) I mean just around the time I was born (1976) women were still held back and then by the time I was 10, i was watching commercials on TV for Barbie dolls where the jingle was "We girls can do anything..."

It still makes me cry to see that episode. That was some fine acting.

Sorry to take this off topic...the Archie Bunker comments made me think.

To get back on topic, I put on socks first and then shoes. I never untie my shoes, I just slide them on. Most of my shoes are slide on shoes, however I still leave my running shoes tied and just pull them on. Meanwhile my husband sits down like Mr. Rodgers and takes off his shoes and socks one by one and lines them up neatly under the bench and then goes to the closet and puts on a cardigan.............."It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood......."

All in the Family is an old favorite of mine. Since the subject is shoes, how about the episode when Archie and Meathead get stuck in the basement and get drunk. Archie tells Meathead about how poor he was that he had to wear one shoe and one boot and kids called him "Shobooty".

Anyway I too voted socks on first. IF I must!!! Otherwise no socks and flip flops or Uggs.

I'm a sock-shoe, sock-shoe type of girl. If the socks are on, so are the shoes.
