I'm not even engaged yet but with talking to DBF and reading all your posts I'm getting excited to start planning my own!:woohoo:
I'm wondering though how on earth do you make all your choices? For instance how do you choose colors for the wedding/reception?
How do you choose which hairstyle you'll want if you only get to see it on the day of your wedding? [what if it doesn't look like you thought and you hate it?]:scared1: Same with makeup.....what if they put on wrong colors or too much and you end up looking like a street walker?
And how do you order a dress online without trying it on? I know they alter them but what if it looks horrible once you put it on you? I know I have this problem all the time with regular clothes [cute on rack bad on me].
Sorry I don't mean to scare any of you I was just wondering how you make such decisions without freaking out...i'm not even planning yet and I can already imagine the panic attacks........when I plan my wedding i'm going to needs lots of valium!:lmao:

I've not picked my colors.. but we are having just a couple of people there.. so I'm not going to stress over that.

My hair.. well, I know what looks good on me. I know that I don't want my neck exposed because that looks bad on me. I know that I want the front of my hair fluffed up, because if it is mashed flat, it makes my face look too round.

Buying a dress online.. well, I bought the most beautiful dress off of ebay for a great bargain. It is fabulous.. for someone else, because it is awful on me! So, I ended up going and getting another dress at a shop that let me try it on. So, while buying online might be great for some, it just didn't work out for me.

First, breath. I say just look at some bridal magazines to get ideas. (Note that since you are not officially engaged you might not want your df to see them.) You will find lots of ideas for colors, makeup, hairstyles, etc. As for the day themselves, read on here who has done good service (and bad service) as hair and make up goes. Find the one you like and talk to them about how you want to look and what you are like (thick frizzy hair, straight flat hair, etc.). As for the dress part, I would definitely try them on. As you well know that what looks nice on the rack may not look nice on you. The same goes for the opposite.
Just relax and enjoy the planning and the engagement (when the come around that is). Since you are thinking about stuff now, you should have a good grasp on what you will like when the time comes.

LOL yes I know I need to breathe!:rotfl: I guess without actually having started to plan a wedding all the possibilities seem over-whelming! I'm sure that when I start things will fall into place and ideas will come to me....i'm just thankful i'll have at least 2 years to plan it so I don't have to rush! Keep all the ideas comming though! I love to hear how people decide!

LOL I have been planning my wedding since 5th grade...LOL... I always LOVEd the wedding stuff... flowers, cake, dress... MY style has changed drastically but go through magazines you will see things that will catch your eye!!!!
