While food shopping this morn I kept the lowfat feta cheese out of the basket.
I had been putting it on my salad to boost my calcium.
Starting tomorrow I think Im going to actually measure my 2% milk before it goes in my coffee and on my cereal.
I dont use the salt shaker but my sodium is still over 2500 on some days.

Any ideas? How have you cut out the sodium?

It is true that a lot of the "heathier" foods tend to make up for lost taste by adding salt and sugar. You do need to watch for that. Try eating more veggies and get out of the convenience food habits. Two easy places to start. Start looking for NSA (no salt added) products. Once you get used to the taste of real food, you wont miss the salt. Though it doesn't sound like you are a big salt eater, you would be surprised by where it lurks. Become one of those irritating lable readers for a month or so. You'll find ways to cut back. Good luck.

Stay away from pre-packaged meats (deli turkey, salami, ham, hot dogs, bacon, etc.). They have lots of added sodium.
