I'm cooking boneless pork chops tonight. BIG ones!!!
And I'm tired of cooking them the same 'ol way!

How do you cook yours?? Bake? Broil?..........

What do season or coat them with???

Help my pork chops please!!!!:) ;)

DH loves them with Shake 'n Bake, so that is how I cook them. I hated Shake 'n Bake as a child, but it's grown on me now.

DH loves them cooked on the range top. I season them with Seasoned Salt and then make a bunch of Spanish rice to go with. Quick, easy & yummy :)

Depends on what I'm having with them and what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes I'll bake them with bbq sauce on them, sometimes I'll coat them with flour and cook them in some oil with potatoes, sometimes I cook them in a pan and then simmer them in chicken broth (I had posted that last week on that other pork chop thread), and if it's decent out - I like to grill them but I do have a stovetop grill now that I can't wait to try them on.

The seasoning changes - sometimes just salt and pepper, sometimes I add garlic salt to that, sometimes I use another seasoning that I get, sometimes I use a jerk seasoning. Again - depends on my mood.

An easy way is to brown them and then add a couple cups of juice (whatever kind you like to drink), and cook them on medium until the juice cooks down. I've used apple juice, berry juice, just about any kind of juice.

You could use pineapple juice and then add a can of crushed pineapple and serve over rice.

You can pound them out, bread them and saute them in lemon butter - sort of a pork Wienerschnitzel.

You could cook them, cut them up, mix them with noodles and your favorite gravy or sauce. Even add a favorite vegetable and have a one-pot meal. My kids like it with peas and Hollendaise Sauce (I use a packet of Knorrs).

Lay them flat in a casserole dish, lay slices of thin sliced ham on top and then slices of your favorite cheese on top of that. Spread a can of your favorite cream soup and bake.

These ideas work great for boneless chicken breasts, too. :)

Get a box of Goya rice mix and throw it in a casserole dish with the pork chops. Add the amount of water that it lists and then bake it at 325 for 45 minutes.

Yum!

Oh and Shake and Bake is also delish!

I either shake & bake them or
I brown rings of onion in a skillet until they're transparent then I add the chops and brown them on both sides...about 3 miutes each side. Then I put about 2 tbsps of brown sugar on each chop. Then I cover the chops heavily with ketchup and then add approx a cup of water with 1-1/2 tbsps of flour mixed in it.
Cover the skillet and simmer for 1 hour checking frequently to see that the liquid hasn't evaporated and adding more if meded.

Thanks for all the speedy replies!!! And the great tips too!:) :)

Chris-
I must have missed that other pork chop thread. I always miss the good threads!!;) ;)

Shake & Bake is pretty good on the big chops. Someone told me about cream of mushroom soup and pork chops, I'm sure you could find that recipe on the web.

Ok so this is what I did.......
Seasoned the huge chops in salt and pepper, garlic and onion salt, and Emeril's Original Essence. Browned them in a pan. Added chicken stock and water. Then added rice. Never cooked them with rice before or chicken stock.

And I have yet to taste them.....still simmering.:)
But it smells REALLYYYYYY good!!!!:bounce: :)

I just did some pork chops. Just waiting for dh to come home so we can try them.

Cooked the pork chops on the skillet. seasoned with salt and pepper. put them aside.
cooked mushrooms and sliced apples with butter in skillet. added about 1 cup of chicken stock, then added a mixture of cold water & cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
take off heat, add dijon(sp?) mustard. pour over pork chops.

First time trying this recipe. Hope it tastes okay because I rarely cook pork (except bacon & sausages) and I know dh wishes I made it more often.

Hope your recipe turns out to be yummmm.

Our family likes them breaded. Bread pork chops, brown in frying pan and add lipton onion soup with 2 cups of water. Cover and simmer until pork chops are done. Usually serve over rice! Enjoy.:D

I usually get the thick-cut "butterfly" porkchops and slow simmer them. So tender they cut with a fork when done.

I cheated tonight and tried the Campbell's supper bake for pork chops. It was pretty good actually and, comes with the stuffing so, just a side veggie and rolls was all I added. I think I'll be trying their others 'bakes' for chicken. ;)

Chris, I remember that thread and, I was wanting to get that baked recipe that seemed so yummy. Something about 'the longer they cook, the more tender they get"? Where's search when you want it? :(

Smoked chops with grilled onions. This was dinner tonight (what Mattsmom burned her hand on).

I love pork chops. But I only recently started buying smoked pork chops on occasion. YUMMY!
You know the BIG pork chops that you get at Sam's? At least at our Sam's it seems as if they cut them at least 1 1/2 " thick! Well I have been cutting them in half horizontally. That way they are about the thickness of a regular pork chop.
Then I will shake and bake them, grill them, bread them, or saute them and then cook them in pork gravy that I have added a lot of garlic to. Ummm Umm Good! :)

Place aluminum foil in a pan big enough to hold all your chops. Season the chops with coarse kosher salt, sprinkle with black pepper, place on the foil, cover chops with bbq sauce. Pour a 12 ounce coke over all, bake at 350 until you smell your pork being done (maybe 30-45 minutes-it's according to how thick and if the bone is in-I go by smell to see if it's done). You can put foil over it if you want while it's cooking. I, um, usually forget to though.:teeth:

If I want to kick it up a notch (gotta love Emeril;) ), I use garlic salt instead of coarse kosher salt.

BethR-
Those HUGE Sam's Club pork chops were exactly the one's I cooked tonight!!!
YUMMY!!!!!!!:) :) :) :) :) :)

MMM...you just reminded me how much I love pork chops with cream of mushroom soup! Just season lightly with salt and pepper, fry them on a pan in a little bit of oil, and throw in a can of cream of mushroom soup. Let it simmer for a while to get tender, and serve over hot rice!
