I need some advice on DD7's hair. She is growing it long and it is mid-way down her back. I can't stand to leave it loose because she is very active and it quickly looks unkempt. However, whenever I put it into braids, ponytail, pigtails, etc. it looks great at first but after a few hours she has little wisps of hair come loose and fly all over.

How do you control the wisps?

Use a small amount of hair gel, wax or pomade, Rub a dab (about the size of a dime) between your hands, gently comb through her hair. I've been using FrizzEase Style correcting Gel for curly/straight styles. It's not sticky and allows me to decide if I want to go straight or leave the curls.

DD's (almost 4 yo) hiar is very wispy. When I do braids, I wet the comb, comb out the section and then use a small amount of gel worked into the section, then I braid. This usually works well and will keep the braids looking nice all day long. Of course the hard part is wrangling DD into standing still long enought to do this procedure! :p

another vote for pomade
I use it and use it on 8 yr dd too
it helps control the frizzies
it is waxy but does not make hair greasy
