How do you clean a coffee pot?

Dog gone it. The Tim Horton's was bad. But we made a second pot with freshly ground beans and it tasted... funky. I know the beans are good. I am wondering if the pot needs to be cleaned.

How would we go about cleaning the coffee pot?

This is how I clean my Mr. Coffee coffeemaker:

Run a full 12 cups of white vinegar through a brew cycle. Use a filter in the basket to catch any gunk that might come through.

Pour the hot vinegar back into the machine and let it sit in there a while. Run the brew cycle again. Dispose of the vinegar.

Run a few full brew cycles of plain water through the machine to clear out the vinegar. Air dry.

If the carafe itself is dirty, I use Oxi Clean in hot water. It gets off the crap really fast.

an old restaurant trick...if you put ice cubes, in the carafe, and dump some table salt in- swish it around...the ice and salt will clean the glass beautifully..and you dont have to worry about dumpin oxi clean in your coffee pot- YUCK
