How do you clean a battery connection?

We have a mini-tape recorder we want to use in the next 30 or 40 minutes. Problem is, I left the batteries in it for several years and one of the connections is very mildy corroded. What can I use to clean that connection? I know it can be cleaned, I don't remember with what. It's not bad, just some minor leakage from the battery, very minor.

I know on a car battery you use baking soda/water mixture - like a paste....with a wire brush.

Maybe that works on this too? Good luck.

With such a little thing, I might try some vinegar on a Q-Tip.

After you clean off any liquid, use a pencil eraser to clean off the corrosion.
