We will be at OKW and I am not really wanting to have to bring the laptop with us (teenager allready spends too much time on FB as is) and who am I kidding I'd be checking my emails which I want/need to get away from!!!!

So can I check in and pay for our bags online at the front desk at the hospitality house? Will concierge do this for you?

I called the OKW phone number today and was told I could use the "business center" at the front desk area to check in. Is there such a thing? It been two years since Ive been there.

We got a good deal on a rental car so we will not be using DME.

Thanks guys!!

I check in using my phone. Before I was able to do that, guest services at the parks did it for me when I asked nicely. I'd imagine they could do that for you at the resort as well.

As far as paying for your checked luggage, you need the following info from the ME Sticky:

If your carrier charges for checked luggage or excess luggage, you can still utilize the RAC desk. Simply call BAGS (the company that operates the RAC desk) prior to checking in at the desk. You may pay your fee over the phone using your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express card. (You can find the number for BAGS listed on your DME paperwork, or by dialing 0 from your resort telephone)

So do I understand right, I can still utilize the RAC desk at OKW even though Im not taking ME? or is it that I can just call the bags phone number 24 hrs in advance and pay for our bags but then will have to check in at the airport or online at one of the park guest services desk?

Im really not this challenged, its just stress!!

I think I just got my answer but if someone wants to chime in please do so.
The RAC desk is different than ME.
I can go to RAC and check our bags the day of our flight (why am i thinking 3 hrs prior to your departing flight?) and they will also check you in for your flight right? and take your bags to the airport for you?

24 hrs before our flight I can call the BAGS number (or dial 0 on your inroom phone) and pay for our bags (using AirTran).

Does this sound right?

Very timely question for me, or my daughter i should say, who is down there right now(and i'm not, boo! ;) ). Can I just go online from home here and check her in online at Airtran, pay the luggage fees and choose their return seats. If they then go to baggage check at the resort where they will store their luggage for the day, will they print out a boarding pass for them? We checked in at the baggage desk at CBR in jan for our return trip, but I can't remember exactly what we did, though they must have printed us some boarding passes there.

Yep, sounds right. DME and RAC are not the same. RAC is available to anyone who is flying out on a participating airline.

The purpose of RAC is to check your bags, checkin and get your boarding passes. RAC doesn't 'store' their luggage, it sends it to the airport. Then, they will print out boarding passes for her. I'm just not at all sure what will happen if you check them in first, and then they go to the RAC counter to checkin and get boarding passes.

We just flew back last Saturday (14th) on Delta and used the Magical Express. We got our boarding passes and checked our baggage at the resort counter (POFQ). The check in clerks told us earlier in the week when I was touching base that if we were using the Magical Express NOT to check in online - they do everything for us. Not sure that it applies to your situation, but we had no problems and our baggage was one of the first off the carrousel when we landed.

Minniekins, do not check in online if she wants to use RAC. RAC will be locked out of the reservation once check in is done.

You might be able to go online and pick a seat, don't know if AT considers that actually checking in. And by not paying for your checked bags online you will lose that discount and have to pay the full baggage charge to RAC.

If she wants you to check in, choose a seat, and pay the baggage fee online, just have her take her luggage on the ME bus and get a duplicate boarding pass at AT in the airport. She can leave her bags at bell services after checking out, but allow extra time before the ME bus for them to retrieve her bags. Tipping is the norm for bell services, we give them a dollar per stored bag.
