We're staying onsite. I know the room key is the FOTL/Express pass. I think you need one for each family member. Since you're showing them all the time, do you use a lanyard or keep them in your pocket?

We bought lanyards at Emack & Bolios at the HRH.

Just tuck it in your shirt when on the rides.

Lanyards can be purchased at the stores located at the parks and hotels. We store both the room key and park pass together in the lanyards for easy access.

Regarding the retractable corded badge holders, (I work at a hospital, so I have several) will PBH punch a hole in the key for you to attach it?

I'm coming from a conference so my plan, unless someone here tells me it is a bad idea, is to use the name badge holder than I will have. It goes around the neck and is where I generally hold my room key will at the conferences (I'll take out the name tag bit first).

I am concerned about this with my kids. They are old enough to go off on thier own a bit and I am nervous about them losing their park tickets......

What do your teens use?

i tuck everything in my bra.........

every little bit helps.......

what i really do is wear a lanyard and on the rides, tuck that baby in my bra that is the plastic part.

i also wear a lanyard that is attached to the universal blue waterproof tri fold mini wallet.

i tuck that sucker in the other side of the bra.

2 lanyards, don't i look like i came from the hills............

first, make a copy of the back of their passes and you keep that in a safe place in your room.

passes can be replaced very easily then.
also know how you paid for them....on line, at the park, etc and type of payment used to buy them

have the teens use a lanyard.
don't trust pockets to hold things secure.

have your teens touch base with you periodically while in the park on their own. this is for your peace of mind.

also tell them if any issues come up or a problem they can not handle, to go to the nearest TM for help.

I must be in the minority - I would put it in my wallet with my tickets and credit cards. That is where I always put my key.

Is it that big of a deal to carry a purse - seems like maybe more people don't carry purses at Universal vs. Disney? My kids will put theirs in their wallets unless DD has no pockets (she isn't girly and probably won't carry a purse).

I don't like something around my neck, and will have a purse.

If you lose your room key, can't you get a replacement at the hotel? I'm sure folks misplace them all the time. We have had trips where we've had a hard time keeping track of room keys! Of course for FOTL we'll all have one with us.

yes, if you lose your room key, it can be replaced at the front desk.

your fotl perks are your room key.
it is proof of who you are and that you are entitled to use the express lane at all times.

it is a big deal i guess because some rides require you to store your bags in a locker......just makes it easier if you don't have to carry a bag

I have a little back pack purse, like a Vera Bradley type, so it's not heavy. I store it in the zip compartment closes to my back, that way I always know where it is, and it's easy to get to. If I have to store the bag for getting on a ride, my sister sticks it in a button pocket on her pants that she miraculously always seems to have.

My mom kept up with all of my passes until I was like 20 haha, I didn't want the responsibility of maybe losing it, but I just didn't give myself enough credit. Just remember, you sit down, and things fall out of your pockets. Don't just rely on a plain pocket.

I actually usually use my pocket. But went in a bathing suit a cpl days ago w/o a side pocket. So stopped at the big Universal store in front of Universal and got one of those Wallet Lanyards. It was actually rly nice I was going to get the non wallet kind and that probably would of been better but it was only $5 and it has Universal written on it so it was a nice souviniour also.

We punch a hole in them and wear them on those coil wrist things you put keys on. Very handy having them on your wrists!

We keep ours in a lanyard along with AP passes. We just swap out our old room key for the current one when we get there. Then when we return home they are hung up by the kitchen so we can get to them quickly for a weekend getaway!:lmao:
