How do you book your Disney vacation?

I book directly through Disney on the Disney website. I don't call unless I have a reason where I have no other option. I also would never use a travel agent.

I've been booking myself with Disney Destinations for years.. I've always thought it was the fastest, easiest, & best way to do things.

Until this time... I am using a TA for the first time for my summer vacation. Why? Because I'm getting an amazing deal I would never have been able to access otherwise. I'm staying at 2 Deluxe resorts with park tickets & a "fun day" at TL, BB or DQ.. for 51% off what I priced out on Disney's site. So TA it is this time around :)

My agent has been awesome, from the original booking to the changes I've made along the way - He's been on top of everything in a timely & professional manner. He has been a joy to work with! Everything I've booked has been on my MDE account as he has completed the requests.. I've made my ADRs & customized my MB's. Just sitting back waiting for my 60 day window to open for FP+ to get them made..

We walked into a large travel agency to make our first Disney reservation 5 years ago and we were told that unless we were booking for a Super Bowl trip (the Green Bay Packers were headed to the Super Bowl that year), that we would not be helped that day. I booked myself then. I learned all I could about everything. NOW I'm a TA and honestly, if I could go back, I would book through someone that specializes in Disney travel (not a large agency such as AAA). Many of them offer surprise presents and gift cards with bookings... I would just be sure to trust them. I've heard horror stories but I think if you find a good one, it's worth it to go through them.

My family used to use AAA - but when the agent my parents used - who knew Disney left -we switched to a Disney specialist travel agent. My mom likes to have an expert opinion and someone else to handle the details . I read up on here so between the TA and dis boards we find good deals and good info. She has given us good advice when we are deciding what resort to stay and what tour to take or where to eat for my picky eater . We have not had any problems and rarely don't get our room requests . While I don't think it is right for everyone - and goodness knows I have read horror stories here - it works for us.

We booked our first trip thru a travel agent and every trip since then I have done by myself over the phone or on line. I think I find better deals then a travel agent and I like to maintain the control over the trip.

I agree. I am not a TA that specializes in Disney, but a good friend does and I book with her.
It is great not having to keep on top of the different offers. If we have already booked and an offer comes out, she automatically checks to see if the new offer would work for us.

When Disney canceled our cruise this past October, our TA handled everything for us. It was great not having to deal with it. The only thing I had to handle was airfare since we booked that on our own.

I book everything myself, usually entirely online. Its quick and easy for me:thumbsup2

We either book through WDW or rent points through an outside source.

We have always used a local TA & I've always been very happy with it. I usually do the leg work & know what I want. So when I call I already have an idea of the price. I like that all of our stuff - including airline - is all in one place & if I have a question or need to change something she does it - again, especially with the airline. I never feel like I give up any control - she doesn't make my ADR's or FP+ or anything like that. I could never give up the planning entirely but I like knowing if something goes wrong I have doe one else to blame!!!!
