Is there a way to book CRT online using the dining plan? I can't seem to figure it out. It wants my CC number for full payment. I don't mind giving it to hold, but I don't want it charged.

It doesn't work online, although it is supposed to. You'll probably need to call.

OK, thanks. I called and they told me they would charge me too, but once we get there they then credit your card back. Does that sound right?

Do you have a room reservation with a dining plan on it? If you have one, and you give them your room confirmation number, they shouldn't charge you. They should take your credit card number for a no-show guarantee. It will only be charged if you don't show up.

If you don't already have a room reservation with a dining plan they will charge you in full and you get refunded when you get there.

There may also be problems with the system where it isn't working correctly and won't take your room reservation information at this time.

Yes I do. He only asked if I was on the dining plan and I told him yes, then he went on to say that they don't take it as a hold, but a payment and then it's credited once you get there. Maybe that is part of the new system? or like you said, since thy are doing upgrading, maybe thats the way they are doing it for now? I guess I could call back and see if they will switch it another day.

Hi Jen:goodvibes,

The same thing happened to me. I went to book CRT breakfast online and it kept asking me for my CC even though I linked it with my resort reservation which has the deluxe dining plan. So I called instead and 2 different CM's told me that for some reason, you can't book it online through your dining plan. When she tried to book it for me over the phone, the same thing happened so I ended up paying for it. I was a little peeved but she said that when I get to CRT, have them use my dining credits instead and they'll refund my card (the refund usually takes 1-2 business cycles to show up).

Loved the cute pics of Claire in her princess costume for school too, she's adorable!:goodvibes

Thanks, glad it's not just me then. Hopefully if all goes well with DH's surgery we will be there for the first week of March. So getting all the ADR's lined up.(just to be safe) I am actually thinking of doing deluxe dining this time...maybe. LOL! I booked standard, but I think I'm gonna upgrade.

Keeping my fingers crossed for his surgery and your Disney trip!:thumbsup2 We love the deluxe dining plan, it works really well for our family since we love character meals and sit down table service. It breaks up our day nicely, we can sit, relax, talk over our day and enjoy the food!:goodvibes

I recently booked the Luau and Hoop Dee Doo. We are on the DxDp. They took my CC but no charges were taken. It was only taken to guarantee the reservation. Check your CC; probably no charges are on there.

No, it will be charged, I ended up doing it online. But the guy said it would be charged if I did it through him too. He said they don't do a guarantee hold with cards for any of the shows either. I may call back after a bit and see if I get the same answer. I would prefer to not have anything charged on my card, but if thats the way to do it, then I guess so be it.

But it hasn't been the case...thus far. She took my room ressies, noted my DxDP status and said I'd only be charged if I didn't show up or cancel before 48 hours out. Its been over a week; no charges have hit my CC and the reservations are on "My Reservations" page.

Thats now how the guy I talked to was going to do it though. He wasn't even going to ake my info on where I was staying. I'll call back in a few days and see, but with the new upgrade things have been whacky lately.
Also, I have alot of things show up late on my CC from Disney. I made a deposit and it still hasn't shown up either.

Good luck - I hope it all works out! I will say that when I upgraded from "free dining" to the DxDp - that money exited my account the next day! Swoosh---

On another note; our vacation is paid in full. Maybe that has some play in it as well. Don't know. The magic and wonder of Disney!

I just posted a question about Cinderella's Castle and saw this post. I ran into the same problem this morning and after two hours on the phone with various cast members I was told that until the meal plan contract with Cinderella's Castle was finalized they would not be able to book the reservation linked to a meal plan and I would have to charge it to my credit card. They told me to call back in January and have the charges reversed and link it to my meal plan then. I sure hope it works out! :confused3

I had a feeling it had something to do with the upgrading of the system.
What is the meal plan contract?

What is the meal plan contract?

Each restaurant on the dining plan must enter into/renew a contract with DW to be restaurant that participates in the DDP each year. The cast member that I worked with contacted "a different department" and they told her that the problem was due to the fact Cindy's Castle had yet to renew their contract for 2011. Who knows if this is truly the case... I guess we'll all find out as the new year rolls around and the 2011 dining plan is fully figured out. Either way, I love Disney and although frustrating sometimes, I can't wait to be there!!!

I posted this on the other thread also. I made reservations for CRT on May 3, 2011 for dinner. We have the deluxe dining plan and we are not paid in full. The CM had no problem making the reservation. They took the credit card number for a hold, but did not charge it. I checked my bank account and they pinged it, but did not charge anything. (checking to make sure it is a valid card) I made the reservation this morning. Call back and see if you can get the credit now.

If they do charge you it will take a few days anyways.

I made a reservation, about 3 weeks ago, over the phone for CRT for the end of January. The CM asked for my resort confirmation number and could see that I had the DDP. He then asked for my CC and told me it was purely for guarantee purposes. As long as I cancel 2 days before, my card will not be charged. It has not been charged as of yet.
