How do you book an Escape reception dinner?

Thank You! I would really appreciate any info you could provide about the Sonoma Room! I've tried to do searches of it, and there doesn't seem to be much available. I would especially like to know the proximity of the catwalk to the room. I heard that the Napa room is better for fireworks, but it's a lot more expensive. So you do think it's possible for us to have an enjoyable dinner without tons of food gone uneaten? I hadn't thought about doing sa cocktail hour. But I suppose if we rent out the room for dinner, we can just hang out there for a few hours and nibble on things slowly. Do you happen to know if we can transfer the cake cutting to the Sonoma Room instead of doing it at the ceremony site?

You're very welcome. When we started looking I couldn't find a lot of info so I thought I'd offer.

From the Napa room you can sit in the room and watch the fireworks and see the MK. The Napa minimum after 5 is $3000 while the Sonoma minimum is $2000. The Sonoma has a view of Bay Lake (downtown Orlando, Wilderness Lodge, and you can see Epcot a little as well). I think the view will be beautiful at night, just not so much of Disney itself.

The catwalk is not far at all. There are 2 catwalks at CG. One is in the front (near the main dining and Napa room) and one is behind it extremely close to Sonoma. You literally exit the room and walk maybe 10 feet down a hallway to get on the catwalk. The manager we spoke to as well as a hostess mentioned that most restaraunt guests use the front catwalk as it is closer.

We are having our cake taken directly to the Sonoma room. We are not having the cake at our ceremony site. The fee is $75 to take it to the room. There is also a $2.50 per person cake cutting fee which won't count towards your $2000 minimum (it is around $50 for us).

We are renting the room from 5pm to 8:30pm. I'm sure it won't take 3.5 hours to eat, but like you said, we can just hang out there.

I don't know how or if you can post PDFs and documents on here, so I will have to email those to anyone interested. But here are a few pictures we took two weeks ago. The room is not decorated in these.

JaxTeach, do you happen to know what the "set-up" costs are associated with this room? And what that includes? How much do you plan on decorating?

When I talked to my WC about my rehearsal dinner. She told me that most restaurants want to get large groups in at the earliest time, preferably when they first open.

From what I understand, the setup costs are from Disney floral, not the CG. I have not been told of any setup fees (I know it says something about that on the menus). When I asked my WP if CG would setup my placecards, favors, etc. I was told no. I will have to have someone (one of my guests) set those up for me. If Disney cannot replace it, they won't touch it.

If you use Disney floral, they will setup whatever you purchase from them. I have not received a quote yet so I don't know what the fee will be. I am planning on a simple centerpiece (if at all) and some candles on my tables. The tables seat 8, I believe, so we will only have 2 or 3 tables. The tables will have standard white table clothes and I might have a navy blue overlay. Rosie with Disney floral said that the chairs in that room cannot have chair covers (they have arms). If you want chair covers they will have to switch out the chairs which will cost quite a bit.

I hope that helps somewhat!

I'm very curious about the wishes cruise. How did you do this with 20 people? Are you splitting into 2 groups or is there an option for a larger group? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what is the cost? I'd love to do that too!

No problem! We are doing 2 boats. We have to catch them at the Contemporary so I guess we will be taking the monorail! The cost was around $280 a piece...I think. You don't pay for it upfront so I wasn't paying much attention. We had the option of pumping music in from the show and I went ahead and got it.
I am really looking forward to doing this. I will definately write about it in my TR. HTH!

I know this thread is really oldbut i'm wondering if anyone has a sample of a custom menu from narcoosees for an escape dinner?

We did a wishes cruise this past july. we boarded at the GF at 9 pm to see wishes . We saw the EWP and then wishes and got back to the marina after that. We did it to celebrate our anniversary, had a cake and the decorations. We could hear the music. It was very very nice- everyone really enjoyed it and wishes was amazing. we did also see the grand gathering boat and it sounded like they were having a good time- the only thing with that is you are with other parties not just yours
