How Do You Avoid...

Those annoying or awkward conversations.
I'm not like saying awkward as in you can't find anything to say.
But those conversations when you start speaking, the person isn't listening or doesn't show any sign that they heard you. So you have no idea if they heard you & don't care, or if they didn't. So you end up repeating yourself, but the problem is is that they start talking themselves.

It's really, really annoying when this happens. I hate repeating myself, and I'm always afraid I 'm boring the person I'm talking to.

I don't mind repeating myself. I'm a nice person, I mean it is rude to ignore someone but I just ignore while they are ignoring me.

I hate repeating myself but that is one of my flaws. I always repeat things without know it.

My friend is the most redundant person I've ever talked to. She ended up in all of the same classes as me this semester and I got to hear about her trip out west 10 million times all day long. Now, it wouldn't be nearly so bad had she been telling me new things...but she told me this same story during the summer a few times and a couple days during school now.

What I'm trying to get to is...I think I've fallen guilty to being a person who doesn't look at the speaker and doesn't reply after...only to then talk about something else. I only do that with my friend though...and only when I'ver heard the topic of conversation enough times where I can recite it back to her lol.

When someone does that to me, I can usually tell if they heard me or not. If they were not listening to me, I'll stop talking and leave it at that. My intentions are not to bore the other person lol. If I know the person is listening to me, but trying to avoid that or trying to show me that he/she just wants to bug the crap out of me, I'll continue talking lol. Again, I am thinking and referring to my friend when I say this because she is such a chatter box and nothing, and I swear to God, nothing will shut her up!!! lol.

What annoys me the most when talking to people, is if they actively show me they don't care what I have to say and they don't care about talking to me in general. I would be sitting there and I'd talk to another friend of mine, but she'd stretch her neck to look at another group of people and when I finish a point, she'd nod quickly and say "uh huh" but she wouldn't stop looking at the other people and right as I finish talking, she'd leap up from the seat and walk over to those other people. THAT is what annoys me lol.
