I'm talking a permanent, managerial/professional position???? I see nothing on the website directing you anywhere?

There are three drop down menu's at the very bottom of the disney.com homepage. The middle one says "Disney Insider Directory", click there and the second link is careers, then click on opening on the left side of the screen. From there you can search and go through most of the Disney organizations searching for jobs.

I feel your pain, I'm trying to do the same thing. Here is the website:

http://jobsearch.disneycareers.newjobs.com/

You can post your resume and apply for positions on this website. As far as I have found this is the only way to apply for a professional job with Disney. Basically the only way to GET a professional job with Disney is to start at the bottom and work your way up or have someone on the inside push your resume to the people in charge.

If you are still in college then you can do the intern program and that is probably the best way to work your way up. But, if you are like me, college is long gone and the intern program is too late!

I have applied for probably 50 positions online and haven't heard back from any of them.

If anyone else has any suggestions, I'm listening!

You know what I think? Disney would be doing itself a great service if it offered jobs to everyone who has been a member of this website for a couple of years! We are by far the most knowledgeable, and heaven knows we LOVE Disney. :goodvibes We are all talented, (read our posts; some of us are hysterically funny! :lmao: ) we all could probably enhance the theme park experience immensely. Somebody please, just save my job at the popcorn stand at MK for when I retire.

I'm not in college, so I can't do the college program, or even work my way up.........I'm just curious if they hire mid-level managers/professionals with a 'decent' pay scale.

I'm sick of PA winters, and I love Disney, so I think thats enough to try to get hired!!! LOL.

I agree, I think that my deep love for all things Disney should be testament to the fact that I would be the best employee of all time!

I would love to be one of those people with the broom and dustpan in Magic Kingdom. If only they would pay me what I make now. You would never see any garbage anywhere (not that you do now!).

I think the answer is yes but, you've got to know someone who can help you get noticed.

Anyone out there actually get a job through Disney's website into a professional job without knowing someone on the inside? If so, I would love to hear how you did it!

I wish I had the courage to move to Orlando after college and work at Disney for either security or helping people with disabilities

I've been applying online, too and haven't gotten anywhere. Does anyone on these boards work in a professional position with Disney? Please tell us how you did it.

It has been several years ago when I applied but at that time I found Disney wages to be below my expectations. I have spent many years in retail management and when they opened a new Disney store in my town (at that time they were still Disney stores) I applied for a general management position and was offered the job at less than half of what I was making as a general manager for a different company. I talked to the recruiter about other positions that may be available in WDW and was told the pay scale would be the same.I love Disney and would love to work for them but just can t provide for my family on the pay.

They do hire, but it's basically what's left over. They hire internally first. They prefer to promote from within. If there isn't an interest by current CMs, or there aren't well-qualified current CMs interested then they'll go public with the job. Since it's so rare, you can bet there's big competition when management, or any behind the scenes job really, open up.

Pay scale. Kinda low, but I guess depending on your area and what the pay scale is (it's sadly comparable, maybe even a little better than most places in my area) you may find it acceptable. I know that regular, front of the line CMs who have been there for years can top out around $15 an hour (which isn't bad for checking lap bars or selling t-shirts) I think. . . but that's after years and years of annual raises.

The best way to get in with Disney though as a professional, is to find another job in the area and take a part time job at Disney to get you "in" and get access to job openings.

I've always wanted to work for Disney, but it's not a reality for me right now due to kids in school and DH being in the military. But one of my favorite things to do on my trips is to point out all the jobs I'd like to have when I "retire" there.

Among those on my list are marathon waver, waitress at the Hoop-Dee-Doo (only so I can prance around singing, "Strawberry" clap-clap Shortcake!") and smiling lady waving goodbye at the turnstiles of the Magic Kingdom each night. As you can see, my aspirations aren't high, but I'll be sure to pour my heart and soul into my waving each day! :teeth:
