Only thing I could come up with is "if you ask me that one more time, I am going to drop kick you through the window!" My co-worker asks me that at least 3 times a week and the other 2 days she is telling me how her jeans are sagging because she is losing weight. She is a size 2!! I have yet to ask that question and I am a 12, down from a 14, care of weight watchers, thank you very much!

Is she fishing for a certain answer, but she needs to go to another lake, cause this fish ain't biting!:rotfl: I do tell her she looks cute unprompted when she has on an outfit I like though.

just answer honestly, NO!

Mikeeee

In this case I would say 'yes' just because she really knows the answer and if she is that insecure then give her something to be insecure about--but then I can be really mean to some people :lmao: .

Poor thing!!! She has no self-esteem so she must constantly fish for compliments.

Answer her honestly. It's pretty much a yes or no question.

I have a girlfriend like that, she makes me nuts. She might be a size 2 and she always feels fat:rolleyes: She is the most insecure person I have ever met and needs constant assurance that she is attractive. I'm surprised she didn't get what she needed from her 3 ex husbands:rotfl:

She keeps asking because she is getting the answer she needs to hear.

How about a
"You know now that you mention it I was going to ask if you had gained some weight. They DO make you look fat."

Bet she won't ask ever again.

Just say,"It's not the jeans that make you look fat, it's your fat that makes you look fat!"

Then run!!!!!!!!!

Next time she asked say that they do make you look fat in the butt and thigh area but not in the waist and lower leg part!

"Nope, the jeans don't make you look fat. However, the cookies, cake, ice cream.....now that makes you look fat!!" :lmao:

*** This answer is coming from someone who only shops at Lane Bryant!! I never ask that question, because I know it's not the jeans!! ;)

Say, "The pants don't make you look fat, it's the junk in your trunk that makes you look fat".

She'll stop asking :lmao:

I ask this question to my husband from time to time. I'm not fishing for compliments, but rather looking to not make myself look foolish when I leave the house...and he'd better tell me the truth. I will often ask "Do I look fat/does this shirt look right with these pants/does this look weird/is this outfit too young for me?" Generally speaking, if I have to ask, then I usually know what the answer is...and I'm just checking to be sure my sense of taste and decency hasn't gone out the window.

Unless she has some serious anorexic tendencies I'd just say "No you don't look fat - just nicely rounded."

Its always the siza 2s who ask that question. A girl with some meat on her bones knows better than to ask that question, she might not like what she hears. :rotfl:

I had a teeny tiny co-worker much like yours. She was forever wanting everyone to tell her how teeny tiny she was. I never could understand the obsession, this girl couldn't be fat if she tried, she just had that bone structure that was very small and petite. Yet you had to tell her that 10 times a day. I guess it was insecurity on her part......

I always feel very sorry for women whose self esteem is in the toilet. And I never know how to handle it.
The first few times I don't mind stoking their ego and trying to help them see they are beautiful. But it gets so old so quick for me.
After the first week it would be getting on my last nerve and there's no telling what terrible thing I might say to shut them up.
I try hard though to remember where it's coming from and say something neutral like "you look fine". Something that doesn't hurt them but doesn't make them come running back to me for more encouragement about their looks every day.
Because that truly is a black hole. Women that feel like that can never, ever get enough compliments to make them feel like they are ok. That's why I feel so badly for them.
