Just curious as to which people preferred. I did my AKL via online but am thinking about a possible code attached to my name or getting more personalized service as far as requests, etc go? What do you all think? THANKS!

I do everything online so I know exactly how much it is going to cost me, then I call and book with dates and everything sitting in front of me on the computer screen and I know the price that I am quoted is the same I figured online.

I do it by phone, because you aren't allowed to book online with a AAA rate. :)

We have recently booked on line for a few years, but my mom had always booked over the phone. We never had any problems or issues with our reservations online. Afterwards you can print everything out and have it on paper.

This past time we also skipped the online ressies and called CRO. I think you get more personalized service from the CMs. It is always nice to talk to them and here what they have to say, provided you get a friendly one-we always have.

I feel better knowing they are noting my requests in the reservation. You can ask them alot of questions about the resort and your stay. If you are a seasoned visitor the CMs ask you you about the room view. :rotfl:

There is just something exciting about talking to a CM rather than sitting at the computer.

We had the 40% off Pin (the 15 digit one) so I HAD to call. I actually cannot stand calling because everytime you call you get the stupid auto-survey and then you are asked again by the CM. But the booking website is probably the worst travel website I have EVER used - and my husband and I frequently use travelocity & etc for trips. Its sad to see WDW/Disney itself not up to date with the technology

I did my "web"shopping online and called to make the ressie's. We are spending good money for this trip and I just felt better talking to an actual person writing a name and comfirmation number once the ressie was made. Then afterwards, awaiting the confirmation email. Isnt technology the greatest?:surfweb:

I've used Dreams Unlimited quite a few times, and couldn't be happier with them. If you have a room only reservation, and a public code is released, they will apply it for you. Same thing if you have an AP and an AP rate is released. And I love being able to e-mail my Dreams TA my desired ADRs, and know that she will take care of them for me. No need to wake up at the crack of dawn on the correct day to start calling for them.

I will check around on-line to see what kind of rates are available, but when I am ready to make my reservation, I e-mail my TA and she does the rest.

Always by phone direct with Disney.

Never by the website. We learned the hard way that this is NOT dealing direct with Disney.

I check everything out on line, even price it, then call and book it!! I'm just old fashioned!!

Same for us! Sometimes the prices online don't match what the person says on the phone-- usually we'll get it cheaper when we call. They'll give us tips to save money. Always worth a try.

I will book online if there are no codes but I prefer to call. I've never used a TA. I just like to have control and have all the information at one time.

The phone. Al
though after being here a bit and learning the Travel Agents can make ADR's (becasue I am in a differant time zone I will be phoning at 5am) it may have been worth letting them have that honor.

We prefer a TA....we have a wonderful one we are using again this year. She is fabulous and goes above and beyond for us. Nice not having to worry about the little things ourselves....just don't have the time.

I've always book ressies online when there were no perks available, then immediately call to confirm. (Why do I do this? :confused3 ) When we stayed at AKL concierge, we got the benefit of a planner who was our direct contact and took care of everything. Meals, shows, special requests plus they noted our preferences and it was totally pain free. Not to mention totally spoiling you when you check in. I felt like visiting royalty! Recently I bought park tickets through the site and it was not so smooth. The first attempt was unsucessful, and I did not get a confirmation. The second day, attempt #2 was fine. Then my bill came and I was charged twice. They were super and fixed it immediately.

I check out the prices online. Call to see if I can get AAA or AP discount and then book over the phone. I want everything paid before I arrive and you can't make payments if you book online. :confused3 If I saw the entire payment go out of my account at one time, I would be ill. By paying it month by month, it doesn't see as bad.
