We have booked our holiday for March 2007 and still have not told our Daughters, aged 6 & 8 years, we hope to tell them at Christmas but want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to tell them so it will be the biggest xmas suprise ever! rather they just saying it!? :scratchin

fill a box with maps of the parks, disney sweets, fake plane tickets, perhaps a few dollars etc et c and then lay a treasure hunt around the house so when they finally find the box they'll be so excited.

good luck, its a very magical thing to do

Sounds like a wonderful thing to do :)

Hi

Sounds like a great idea Carol. How about a card from Mickey in it as well inviting them to Disney.

oooh yes, also pictures of the hotel, the plane, any old rubbish like the sleep masks, in flight socks etc! they'll be so excited.

If you need knick knack bits then there'll be tons of us who can send you stuff!

Good plan, we had thought about a treasure hunt kind of thing and you have given me some great ideas, will have to get my thinking cap on!

Cheers!

:goodvibes

I read on another forum that someone got a helium balloon tied the tickets to the end of it and put it in a box and had their children open it Christmas morning. So perhaps you could do something like that at the end of the treasure hunt! Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure that your children will be very excited!

I did the helium ballon trick (Mickey Mouse, natch) - it went down a storm with my kids.

We're taking DS in January for his 9th birthday and we've kept it a secret and plan for him to find out on Christmas Day. 90% of his presents are disney themed except for some books. All the presents are wrapped in cool Mickey Mouse and disney paper with disney gift tags bought from the christmas shop in DLP.

On Christmas day he will unwrap the non-Disney presents first - about 8 books and then he will unwrap all the rest, he has disney pants (heehee - he hates getting new pants so it's a bit of a tease), Disney top trumps, a remote controlled Herbie Car, some Disney DVD's, the Disney DVD Trivial Pursuit game, a Chip and Dale pin from DLP, a Mickey Mouse alarm clock from DLP, errm and lots of other Disney bits including magnets, autograph book, photo album etc.

Then his last present is a limited edition Socerer Mickey big plush toy in a Disney Store gift box and he will be holding the letter from Mickey inviting him to WDW for his birthday in 14 days time, Disney Princess & P{irate Party tickets (we're going to the first one!) and hopefully the new planning DVD if it arrives :cheer2:

We were going to do a treasure hunt but really wanted to capture it all on video and we once did a treaure hunt with balloons tied to a birthday present and it was hard to film and keep spontaneous!

I can't wait to see his face!

if it was me i would go for the lots of little presents each giving clues and sit back with the camcoder rolling and watch his face as the penny drops
