Do we need to get a taxi to various parts of Freeport, and if so how much can we expect to pay for 3 adults and two kids? Also what should we put on our “top sites to see” list in Freeport and on the other end is there anything to avoid

Thanks!

 Anyone?

What I am wondering is Is there even anything to see in freeport?

So, can anyone help? What did you do in Freeport if you didn't book an excursion?

Thanks All!:p

From what I understand, there is no reason to stay near the ship. You will want to take a taxi to either the International Bazaar or to the Port Lucaya area. Taxi to the Int'l Bazaar should cost $3/pp or you could take a public bus for $1/pp. A taxi to Port Lucaya should cost $4/pp.

I have the shopping guide for Freeport at my web site. Besides the usual shopping info, there is some other useful info including some maps.

I also have a few links to various Freeport sites. Go to my external links page and then click on "Freeport".

Since we spent the day in Nassau at Atlantis, we chose to stick around the ship on our Freeport day. We did get off the ship for about an hour to walk around a small straw market right across the street. It was very neat and clean, and a fun way to spend at least a little time off the ship. All of the vendors were very friendly and not pushy at all. We bought a few things and were back on the ship in time for lunch. On the ship, we caught a movie, laid out in the sun, played ping pong, boys went to arcade, etc... It was a nice way to rest up before our Castaway Cay day!
