will fly in on the Saturday before labor day and use DME. I figure the bus will get us to Pop Century around 11am.
We are staying only one night and not visiting a park (leaving on a cruise the next morning).

We have Chef Mickey Reservations for 5:15 (DH, one year old, myself). What do we do during this time?
Our flight lands at 9:30. I think once we get into our room, I want to head out to the playground area. Maybe grab a muffin or something small to eat for her. I want to tire little one out so she can take a nap before dinner.

What time should we head out for the bus to Chef Mickey? I'd like to get there early enough to check out the contemporary resort. What should I see there?
After dinner, what do we do? I know our hotel has campfires and a movie night. Should we just head back there? Will it be too early to try to catch the electric parade or fireworks? If not, where do we go for viewing?

We have never been to Disney and are all over the place with ideas and we are on a budget. Thanks so much.

Well, it really depends on what you want to do. You can check-in then head to DTD for the afternoon to pass the time. You could stay Pop and explore its grounds; I'm sure you daughter will love all of the larger than life statues. If going that route I'd probably get on the bus to MK around 3p, take the walkway to the CR, then hop on the monorail and visit the monorail resorts before dinner.

In February we stayed one night pre-cruise. We did mini golf, then went to DTD and had dinner then went to Poly to watch the Electrical Pagent at night.

I think your plan though sounds great!

Here's what I would do: NOT go to DTD, it's a mess with construction and is a busy place on a weekend especially a holiday weekend. I would take that right out of the equation.

I would pack bathing suits into your carry-on bags and hang out at the pool.

There is a movie shown at the resort each night but the no campfire at POP.

I welcome you to the Dis pixiedust: You picked a good resort, lots of photo ops all over the place. Have fun Head over to Chef Mickey's from POP at about 3:30-4:00

Correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe there are campfires at Pop Century. Movies by the pool yes, campfires no.

You're right OP may have been thinking about the campfire singalong down at Fort Wilderness. I originally had that suggestion in my post but took it out as an option for them because that starts at 7 and they will never make it in time.

Chef Mickey's is NOT to be rushed ( says" Luvchefmic " ;) who is having her 60th BD party there )

Ok it looks like we will hang around Pop Century until 3 or 4 and head out to CR for Chef Mickey. We may hang around CR to catch the campfire there before heading back to Pop Century and catching the movie at 8:30.

The after Chef Mickey activities will be pending. Since it is a holiday weekend I am sure places will be crowded. The water pagent sounds great but it looks like it will start too late for us with a little one.

OP what campfire are you thinking about ? There is none at CR

Do you think your little one will fall asleep in a stroller? If so, you may want to try to stay for the water pageant and then watch the Mk fireworks. You would sure get your money's worth if you could see all of that. And the best part is, it is all free. You are allowed to watch either of these from the beaches at the poly or any other resort on the monorail. During the day I would stay around the resort and enjoy the pool.

OP....not sure if you know that your room may not be ready until at least 3pm? The way I read your post it sounds like you want her to nap at POP before you head out to dinner. On a Saturday of a holiday weekend you may get to your room just on time to leave for Chef Mickey's. I would pack a small bag with swimsuits, sunscreen and whatever you need for the evening just in case.

If you're looking for a campfire, Beach Club & Poly definitely have them. At least they did 2-3 yrs ago.

hmmm, with a one year old, and an early flight, I'd pack the carryon with swimsuits and towels, and check in- that way even if your room isn;t ready, you can have a nice lunch, walk the grounds, enjoy the pool, etc. You could get your baby to nap with a long walk in the stroller all over Pop and over the lake to wander at AoA... I like your timeline of heading out to CR at 3-4- then you have time to look around there also:cool1: lots of pretty landscaping and site all over at Disney! I wouldn't recommend running around too much and getting worn out.... if you can, staying to watch the water parade is fun, but if not, a nice evening swim at Pop and a movie is fun too!
