How do u keep your hotel room organized?

It took us quite a few trips to organize ourselves with a system, and it is much like what several others have posted, but my #1 organizational tip after many times of going, is to just bring less stuff. This has been very hard for me, but it is so much easier keeping less stuff organized. Some have posted, put out everything you are going to bring and then put back half of it. I usually never get to half, but 25% ususally, and most times I still have too much.

Have fun!

Many thanks to all for the replies. I wasn't looking forward to
living out of a junky room for 7 days, but thanks to you guys I cant wait!

One thing to keep in mind - with the extra charges for checked bags ($25 for the first and $15 for each consecutive bag) on most airlines, some of the suggestions might not work for you. That's where doing laundry definitely comes in handy!

We do a drawer/some closet space for each person and then keep a drawer and suitcase handy for dirty laundry. DVC units (any of the Villa Resort rooms) will give you a laundry basket, also.

I also have to unpack the minute we arrive and am not happy until it's done - frankly, it drives my husband crazy. I also, make sure all of the toiletries and groceries are put away. I grab glasses from the kitchen for toothbrushes and makeup brushes. I like the idea of using the kids' tote bags for stuff - I'll have to try that when they are older. We usually keep all new purchases on a nightstand, in a drawer, or on the kitchen counter (since we are DVC and always have a 1BR or larger).
