Yesterday while my son was playing in his room, I decided to sneak myself a couple of waffles. (He had just eaten breakfast, so I didn't want him to start wanting waffles too...) I got them into the toaster and put the box back in the freezer, and a minute or so later he comes wandering in, looks at the toaster oven with a beaming smile, jump up and yells FUFEES! (waffles...) I know he could smell something, but he knew exactly what was in there the second he walked into the kitchen- we hardley ever have waffles to top it off! Today he was playing in the kitchen and I headed to the freezer, and instantly he exclaimed with a big grin "fufees!" !! How do kids know this stuff? HE cracks me up, you can't hide anything from him!

I love the little stories too, and every parent is full of them! That is the first one I've posted, I feel silly saying hey everyone, look what my son did today... But I love to read other peoples stories!

Too funny. They are sooooo smart. My daughter floors me almost daily & my son (who is 1 1/2) does too. I love hearing upbeat stories as well.

Sounds like me hiding at night eating Fruit Pebbles when I was pregnant with my son so my daughter wouldn't see me...

Isn't it funny how many things we try to "get away with"? Who's in charge anyway?? A couple of weeks ago he was refusing to drink his milk, but if i put it in the fridge, he'd flip out... when he wasn't looking, I picked it up and headed for the fridge, and he caught me. I hid it behind my back, acting like I didn't have anything, and he laughed and walked away- only to whip his head around every couple of steps to make sure I wasn't trying to trick him! It took him about five minutes to walk from the kitchen to the living room where he was out of sight, and the second he heard the fridge close, he came running back! He had no proof of what I'd done, so he didn't "punish" me

That happens to me also with my 2 1/2 daughter when it comes to soda. When she hears the can open, she comes running into the kitchen and says soda.

Personally I've always thought my son has been born with some super secret Spidey sense. He can tell as soon as a bag of chips is opened or someone sits down on their own to do some reading. The best is how he ALWAYS has to go to the bathroom as soon as DH gets in there!!!!!!

PersonallyI've always thought my son has been born with some super secret Spidey sense. He can tell as son as a bag of chips is opened or someone sits down o their own to do some reading.

My dds do the same thing! 9 out of 10 times, I will get the younger one down for a nap, and as soon as I get settled with a snack, Whap! Her eyes fling open as to not miss a thing (that she can't eat because she is too little anyways!) Or I get the older one settled and involved, then sneak into the kitchen only to turn around and see her right on my heels!

LOL, we tried that in the car today- my husband and I tried to sneak some gum and Alex says "yum yum?" we tried to ignore him, but he wouldn't let us, so we told him there was no yum yum... he knew better than that, but settled with a disappointed "all gone"? I felt so bad!

Once when DD was about 3 I put her to bed, then made a cup of tea and grabbed a handfull of chocolate chips. She fell asleep, but woke up an hour later with a bad dream. I went in to comfort her and she turns to me and says I smell your chocolate breath!
