How do they figure trip insurance when using points for the cruise?

We're taking our first cruise ever in April on the Wonder and have booked it with points. My DH can get travel insurance through his company (a travel agency), but before he goes and asks about the details, I'm wondering how the insurance companies figure out the dollar value of points if we have to book a claim?

The insurance offered through DVC is $5 per point refunded.
