How do they do rehearsals?

My sister is getting married at the end of November and we were wondering how & what they do for the rehearsals. Will we actually go to the wedding site? :lovestruc

It all really depends on the schedule for the wedding site. We were able to have our rehearsal at the wedding pavillion on Sunday afternoon, and we got married Monday at noon. I was told if the wedding site was not available they would get us a room at the GF convention center as a substitute. They wouldn't confirm the rehearsal time until about 30 days before the wedding and it was subject to change if a wedding was scheduled.

It also depends if she is having a custom or intimate wedding. The intimates don't have a rehearsal. Our minister and wedding planner met with us individually before the wedding and ran through the entire ceremony with us.

Make sure what ever they decide that its convenent for you and your wedding party. My whole wedding party was staying at the Boardwalk and they orginally scheduled our rehersal for Sunday morning at 9 AM at the GF. I didn't have a huge wedding party, but it was 16 people that I would have to organize and get moving via Disney Transportation (we didn't have enough rental cars). I asked if we could move the rehersal to the Boardwalk and a little closer to our rehersal dinner. They were able to make the change.

It does depend on the schedule of the wedding site and your flexibility. I wanted, actually insisted, that my rehearsal be at the WP or there was no point. I needed my little flower girls to not be seeing it for the first time the day of...the rest of us all know how to walk and hold flowers! :)

Congratulations to your sister, 2cutekids. How excited she must be about her upcoming marriage.

I was a “custom” vow renewal bride who had been married for 20 years. I didn’t need a rehearsal (obviously ;)) but wanted one so that my two bridesmaids (my daughter & my niece) and my two groomsmen (my son & my nephew) would get the full-blown effect of what a wedding / vow renewal entails. I was fortunate to schedule my vow renewal for the Wedding Pavilion on the night before my vow renewal. My rehearsal was followed by a Welcome Party for all of my guests at the Grand Floridian Resort. Everything worked out beautifully, timing-wise (my Event Manager saw to that).

As to the actual rehearsal, I think it lasted less than 15 minutes. My officiant was at the Wedding Pavilion for my rehearsal, as was my Event Manager. My officiant gave the wedding party a brief verbal rundown of the ceremony. She followed that with a quick walkthrough. Wham, bam, thank you, Ma’am. It was over & done in less than 15 minutes.
