MK is open 9-9 and then extra magic hours till midnight. It isn't a special event like MNSSHP. So, how are they going to figure out who is staying at a Disney hotel and who is sleeping offsite?

We are debating PoP (qualifies for extra magic hours) vs. a downtown disney hotel (more space for the money, but no EMH). The EMH will only be worth it if there isn't a big hassle clearing the park of those who qualify and those who don't.

They don't clear the park anymore or use wrist bans anymore. When EMH starts you will need to show a valid KTTW card at each ride entrance.

You have to show your resort/ park ticket card to the CM's running the attraction before you can get on or enter any of the attractions during the EMH. They don't actually " clear" the parks. They used to give out paper wrist bands but the last couple of times, they haven't been giving them out.

I believe the DTD Hilton participates in EMH, or it used to...maybe someone in the know will weigh in on this. Just FYI...

Editing to add: Yep, just checked their website and they do participate in EMH.

HEY! That's great to know! Thanks!

Don't forget to add parking at the parks to your figures if you have a car and limited shuttle transportation from your hotel if you don't.

Yes, basically now that they've gotten rid of the wrist bands a guest who isn't staying on property (or at one of the other participating hotels) could stay in the park but not go on any rides if they wanted. We've done EMH a lot (we've only ever stayed on-property) and love it! Especially since we go in lower season when the parks close earller.

I'm glad they got rid of the wrist bands, those line could sometimes take quite a while. Last trip we just showed our room keys before going on the rides...took no time at all.

Good to know about the wristbands, the last time we were there they still had them.

Question....if we are a family of 4 are we all going to have to show all 4 cards to be able to ride?

Yes, but it is not really that bad. I just held all 4 of our cards and showed them to the CM, who checked the dates and let us go through, it is quick and painless.
