How Do These ADR's Look?

After much research and planning (which my spontaneous hubby hates!) we made the following ADR's:

8/21 - 50's Prime Time Cafe 7:30 PM - More for the atmosphere for our kids than the food (they've never been before).

8/22 - Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast - 11:20 AM - More Brunch than Breakfast - Our daughter loved this last year because she got to see Minnie!

8/23 - Le Cellier - 6:40 PM - Have high expectations on this one based on the good reviews we've read.

8/24 - Planet Hollywood - 5:30 PM - Again more for the atmosphere - Hoping to ride the boat from POFQ to DTD to get there.

8/25 - Hollywood & Vine for the Fantasmic Package - A little worried about this one but thought the buffet would appeal to our finicky kids.

8/26 - Whispering Canyon - 5:30 PM - Again high expectations based on the reviews.

8/27 - Going Home :sad1:

Do you think we made at least some good choices? The Dining Plan is giving us the opportunity to try restaurants we have never done before so I'm hoping I didn't mess up too badly!

I think your choices look great - lots of variety, and some really fun meals.

We chose H&V for the FDP for the same reason you stated - we have some picky eaters and thought the buffet would offer something for everyone. It worked out well for us - everyone was able to find plenty to eat from the selections. In fact, I got full before I was able to try everything that looked good to me. If we do the FDP again, we'll go back to H&V.

I think they look great for the exception of Planet Hollywood. I've eaten at many of those before and the food is mediocre (sp?) at best. Now this is just my opinion but I would not eat there. The atmosphere is good though. I feel the same way about Hard Rock, Rainforest and Planet Hollywod

They look pretty good. I'm not a fan of Planet Hollywood but it is nice to look at all the movie stuff.

Looks good! We happen to like Planet Hollywood and don't forget to look at the memorabilia with the kids fun atmosphere. Have fun!!

With the lone exception of Planet Hollywood, I believe you've made wonderful selections! My apologies to those who like PH, but I'm still trying to decide in which solar system their food supplier planet revolves...

My wife and I really enjoy to atmosphere of 50's. Not trying to show our ages here, but we both grew up in homes with kitchens like their dining area...including the Fiesta Ware.

Given the DP included with our upcoming September trip, we're going to try H&V with Fantasmic also. As you stated, the Package allows one to try something different.

We've NEVER been disappointed with our dining experiences at Le Cellier. In over 12 trips, each one including this restaurant, there has never been a mishap, a botched order, a bad meal, a terse castmember...nothing but a great experience. We've always read with wonder at the less-than-great experiences others have reported, because this place consistently exceeds our expectations...and believe me, my wife is extremely picky! Be sure to ask for extra "pretzel" breadsticks.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks everyone for your input - I'm feeling a little better about our plans. Is there any other restaurant at DTD that you would recommend in place of Planet Hollywood? We thought it would be fun to take the boat from POFQ to DTD and spend the evening there, including dinner. We usually do Rainforest Cafe, but since that's not on the DDP we were looking for a new option. Not sure if the kids would like Wolfgang Puck's. Is there anything else at DTD to use a TS on? Would we be safe at Planet Hollywood with just burgers? :confused3

Regarding options at DTD besides Planet Hollywood: the WDW website also lists Raglan Rd and Cap'n Jack's Rest as TS restaurants...sorry I have not tried either but perhaps others can provide some insight. (You can also check the menus at Deb's AllEarsnet site, unless you already have!?)

While it does not appear many posters favor PH for the food, I have eaten there at least 3 times and found nothing to complain about. There apps are tasty(I've tried the potato skins, chix crunch and tostadas...not in the same visit, of course) and alway enjoy one of the salads. It is very popular location, so it can get loud at times, but my kids like walking around looking at all the memorabilia and want to go back during our next visit. Again, we did not go there expecting a "fine dining experience" and have not left dissatisfied.

Your other choices look great...great minds must think alike since I plan to book nearly identical ADRs for our visit next year. :thumbsup2

Have fun!

PS If you have not already visited POFQ, you must try the beignets...YUM. And the boat ride to DTD is so convenient...and your kids will love "Scales" the pool slide...and...and...(we actually stayed at POR but loved the 2 visits we made to POFQ)

We loved Planet Hollywood. It was one of the best meals on our trip. Appetizers were great and so were the entrees. I had pasta and it was delicious! :) All of your choices look great. I can't wait to try Le Cellier on my next trip. I have heard it is really good.

Thanks again everyone - I think we'll leave the ADR at PH - This trip is all about trying new places for us and taking advantage of the DDP. We've never stayed at POFQ so I'm looking for a great new experience there too based on some pretty good reviews I've read. This is our first time going in the summer so the pool was a big consideration for the kids. I can hardly wait!! :woohoo:
