How do some of you here achieve/maintain YouFirst Platinum level?

Do you stay at Loews hotels more local to your home during the year, or do you really have the opportunity to get to Universal 10+ times a year (I think that's the requirement)?

I lost my Platinum status last year and I can't see ever getting it back.

I too lost my Platinum level this year. We really liked the confirmed at time of booking upgrade to a suite benefit. While we have 10 nights per year between the RPR and Portofino, they now count stays, not nights. There are not any Loews hotels where we live or normally visit so we were reduced to Gold status.

We will be going again this August to Portofino. We will just have to hope to be lucky for the $50 upgrade at check-in.

You know what perk would be the best benefit? - Free Parking!

oh and yes....there IS a Loews Hotel about an hour from me in Phila., but why bother staying and spending all that $, when you can *hope* to PAY only $50/nite for the upgrade? It's nice to have and all...but not worth all that money (& time/gas).

I just be stayin onsite to get my key...any of the 3 hotels will do!

There's a plan to build a Hard Rock Hotel not too far away from me, near the Kansas Speedway. If that ever comes to fruition, we might join the Hard Rock All Access Club and then just stay at the HRH, even though that our least favorite of the 3 hotels.

I'm not as clear as Mac regarding the AACard and it's perks. But, if you're going anyway....may as well use what you earn. And...of the 3 onsite, HRH was my least fave too. But...I'd stay there...after all...it's all about the key.

lost our platnum too. now we just find the best deal we can without worrying if its a qualifying stay
