How Do Refillable Mugs Work Right Now? (Must.Have.Coffee.)

I'm trying to understand how refillable mugs at resorts work right now. I know that the dining plans are not currently available. On all of our previous trips. we've had the DP as part of our package, and DH and I have always used the refillable mugs for morning coffee. I typically always ran down to the resort's quick service to fill both mugs so we could have coffee while getting our boys out of bed in the am. We also love having the mugs as a souvenir to take home after each trip. I have two trips scheduled (one in October 2021, and one in June 2022). Assuming the DP doesn't return at least for the October trip, how do refillable mugs work? I assume I can't bring an old refillable mug from home and I will need to buy a refillable mug at my resort? If I do that, how do I fill/refill my mug with my morning coffee? I'm a cream-in-my-coffee girl, so I need to know the drill. In advance, thanks so much for your info!

Refillable mugs are for the current trip only. You purchase one either via mobile order through the resort quick service or in the gift shop (I did it at pop gift shop). You are permitted into the quick service at the resort by showing your mug and they have people that will give you a beverage in a disposable cup if you show the mug or possibly just the receipt or even a photo of the mug in some cases. You can then pour it into the mug or just use the paper cup. You cannot refill your own mug and the cast member doesn’t touch your mug. At pop they gave me 2 cups of coffee at once (my usual morning amount).

Can I get cream from CMs when I get coffee from them in disposable cups, or should I figure out another way to get cream and keep it in my room?

How it works will depend on where you are staying TBH. Doubtful that each place is doing it the same. But if they have had creamer/half n half in the past, then it is likely to be available by request. Otherwise there are always coffee-mate little creamer cups.

I know they had it. I can’t remember if you got it when they gave you the coffee or they were off to the side where we got some condiments. I have to have flavored creamer so I bring my own with me.

I just bought some creamer cups that don't have to be refrigerated as my husband has the same issue. Depending on where are room is and what the current cup situation is, we might just try to drink the in room coffee.
