How do people figure this stuff out?

Going through MousePlanet looking at the free dining offer and changes for next years plan I come across this little paragraph.

"Note: The Premium and Platinum plans are no longer available for stays of fewer than three days. This is to address the issue of guests booking a one-day Platinum plan before or after the rest of their stay and taking advantage of as many added-cost features as possible in the one day to get a value of multiples of the cost of the plan, such as the $229 Backstage Magic tour, followed by a $145 facial massage at the Saratoga Springs Spa, and finishing up with a $135 dinner at Victoria & Albert's. As it's not likely that guests will be running up such a huge tab every day of a three-day-plus vacation, Disney is less likely to take a huge loss on the plan."

How do people figure this stuff out? I would never even think to try it let alone look for the loophole. Good for those that found it but I guess this is one of the reasons why the prices keep going up or they are constantly changing things.

If there is a loophole anywhere, or there is a way for people to get more for nothing, there are people who will find it and exploit it. That's one of the reasons why there are SO many rules for all of these things. And why there seem to be more rules and fewer perks every year.

I read the same article and wasn't the least surprised. A year or two ago there were threads on the Dis with people talking about the Platinum plan and how they would schedule hugely expensive tours and extras from early morning to late at night to get the biggest bang for their buck. And stay at a value resort eating PB&J the rest of the week. Go figure.

OK, the last part was an exaggeration. But not by much.

Nothing really surprises me these days when it comes to people pulling a fast one. Especially now, people seem more self absorbed and spoiled than ever.

Trust me, nobody is smarter than Disney to figure out loopholes. I call it a win win situation. At the end of the day (everyday), Disney is ahead $$$$, always. Anyone who thinks otherwise has their heads in Disney's clouds. Think "Free Dining" for example.

with the profliferation of powerful computers and ease of access to spreadsheets and instant communications, things that would have gone overseen for years(or only known by a few) are now seen and communicated in a split second.

One post on a forum, and the world knows and takes advantage of it.
