How do merchandise pickups or resort deliveries work?

So I have a few things on my list to purchase at the parks during my upcoming trip to the World. (2 weeks!!!)
Some of them are larger items like puzzles (to complete my collection!)
I've never used the delivery or pickup service and I'm wondering how they work exactly.

If I request my things be delivered to my resort room, will they reach bell services or be brought up directly to my room?
Do I have to be there for them to deliver?
Can I request deliveries from several different shops on one day? (Hypothetical question. I won't be shopping that much! :D)
Would there be a long wait time like with luggage delivery?

What about requests for pickup at a certain point in the park? Is that more reliable? Do you have to give them a time period for pickup or can you just come whenever?
Has anyone had any negative experiences with either of these services? (like lost or missing items, breakage, etc.)

Thanks everyone and happy new year! pixiedust:

I used it when I was there a few weeks ago. When you get stuff sent to your hotel, it gets delivered to the gift shop. You just go there and present your receipt and they'll go get it for you. You can pick them up any time after 2pm the next day (I think, it's 2...). As long as you don't buy things the day before you leave, you should be good.

I've never had things sent to the front of the park, so I can't help you there.

they will not leave anything in your room any longer when you buy something you can have them drop it off at your hotel gift shop they will tell you it will be there tomorrow after ___ I think normally 1 you will fill out a pice of paper about half notebook size this is what you use to pick up your package if you buy it too late in the day it can take 2 days to get to you, but with 2 weeks you should be fine

I have never had a bad experience with this but if something is broken or damaged this is Disney and I think pretty sure disney would take care of it.

Ive used the shopping service when staying onsite at Disneyland Paris. There is sually a cut off point in the day for using this service, in Disneyland Paris it is 3pm.

When paying for an item, say the name of the hotel you are staying at and that you want to use the shopping service. You will be given a form to fill in, your name, name of hotel, room number etc. Part of the form is attached to the shopping bag, part of the form is given to you as a receipt. You will be told the collection time and place for your hotel. Most of the pickup points are in the Disney gift shop in the hotel. If you are concierge level or staying at Disneyland Hotel the bags MAY be delivered direct to your room.

You can shop in various stores and get any number of bags sent back to the hotel

We always have our purchases sent back to the hotel. It is super easy. Tell them before you pay because they have to print the receipt on a special form also and if you tell them after, then it has to be voided and re-rung (I learned this the first time we sent something back :-) )

We had something get broke in transit back to the hotel once and they were super about getting it replaced ASAP.

PPs have covered most of it. You can purchase multiple items from multiple stores and have them sent back to your resort. There are a few things they will not send--I'm thinking alcohol and and some others--but most items are fine. Just tell them when you are making the purchase and they will have you fill out the appropriate form. They will be available at your resort the following afternoon.

If you are staying club level at a deluxe resort, they actually will deliver the items directly to your room. Otherwise, you will have to go to the resort gift shop to pick them up.

I have had things sent to the gates on my last day when they couldn't send them back to the hotel. I've only done it at Epcot so can't speak to the other parks but you can tell them which gate you want it sent to, they will tell you when it will be ready and you just show the copy of the receipt they give you. Since I normally stay at the Epcot resorts, I send it to IG shop and pick it up there.

We have used the back to the hotel a lot
It was great when they used to leave it in your room but now you have to go to the gift shop the next day normal after 2 but some times they get packages late or get them sorted later

You need to allow three hours from time of purchase for your merchandise to get to the package pick-up location, if you decide to go that route. Your bag of merchandise goes through a lot of processing and traveling from the point of sale to the spot where you can pick it up.

We have used the resort delivery for years and love it. The only issue is that since they changed it to deliver at the gift shop rather than the room, you have to be there sometime when the gift shop is open. Club level still delivers directly to the room which is awesome. I have only had one instance where something broke and the resort gift shop called and had it replaced and waiting for us the next day. This past trip I started using the disney parks shopping app. If you don't mind paying shipping you can scan the bar code for an item in the store (or search for it on the app),buy the item without ever getting in line at the store and have it shipped home. We loved doing that with the bigger stuff and not worrying about where to pack it to get it home!

We always use the service because it is so much easier than carrying around a bunch of bags. We even do this with some of our things from Disney Springs. Everything is sent to your resort gift shop and you can pick it up the next day. As people have said this service stops the day before you check out, anytime before is fine to use. We've never had an issue with anything broken or not getting to our resort.

Fun fact I learned on a recent day trip to HS/MK, if you buy something bulky in one park and visit another, they will hold your purchase at package pickup for free. (With your receipt)

Thank you so much everyone!
This was very informative! I guess I'll check how late the gift shop at the resort is open and then decide if to send my stuff there.
I wouldn't want to cut my day at the parks short just to make it in time to collect my stuff... :)

We've had shirts (from the Hanes custom shirt shop near the Marketplace bus loop) sent to the hotel - sure beats waiting for them!

Most are open until 11, but the hours can be seasonal. I think the earliest I've seen them close is 10. Some open at 7, but we have occasionally seen it be 8 or 9, if you want to pick up before heading out in the morning. There have been times we have waited a couple of days to pick things up just because we weren't around during gift shop hours and it has never been an issue. I would just check the shop's current hours when you get to the resort. If your resort has more than 1 shop, you will want to verify which one has the pick up.

There is also an additional option to have your stuff waiting at the front of the park the same day. I"m not sure the details of it but it's a great option if you know you'll be around long enough and you have it in your hand when you leave. (you can also do this via the shop disneyparks app).

And if you accidentally check the wrong resort, they will get that corrected and sent over. :o

anyone had anything shipped to the hotel that they purchased before they came?

Looking to have my mouse ears waiting for me when I arrive so I can wear them all 4 days I'm there and only have to stop to have them monogrammed (where can I do that btw?)

Just a note that if you purchase your item "late" it may not be at your resort until the next day. My experience: bought an item on Main Street (MK) a little after 10pm. Got to the hotel gift shop around midnight. After 30 minutes they declared that the package must not have come yet, check in the morning. Checked at gift shop the next day around 10am - still not there. Then got a message that it arrived around 2pm. So from 10pm Friday until 2pm Saturday.
