How do I use this Southwest credit?

I have $125 in SW credit from tickets where the price went down. It is split between five passengers. I tried using it online, but it would only let me put in two passengers credit for one ticket. Is there no way for me to use the entire credit to purchase a ticket just for me? Did that make sense? Thanks for any help!

yes it makes sense, cuz it's what happened to me..

When I booked a couple months ago, it let me use 3 forms of pymt, 2 forms were credits and 1 form cc for balance. I ended up splitting my reservation up w/hubby and I so I could use 2 more credits.

That stinks! Thanks for your help!

Yes, my hubby could only use 2 of them per ticket. I found a way around it and booked one ways! After January 28 only the person that got the credit can use it:(

Where did you hear about a change as of January 28?

I've always been able to use 3 parts of a credit plus a credit card per purchase. Based on that, if you book both directions separately then you can use 3 of the credits plus a credit card for the outbound flight and 2 for the return flight. If they've recently changed this to 2 credits per purchase then you'll at least be able to use 4 of the 5 portions of the credit if you purchase the two directions separately.

I think its on their site when you go to use them. Its also well-documented on flyertalk.com. Also, drink tickets that come with rewards now show your name. I think it to avoid people selling these things on craigslist oe ebay.

Good thinking! You can use 2 of them for a one way ticket going, and then use 2 of them for a one way ticket back. Very good advice! :thumbsup2

Right off Southwest's website:
Effective January 28, 2011, unused travel funds may only be applied toward the purchase of future travel for the individual named on the ticket.

And yep, it sucks. :sad2:

That's good advice, thanks! Man, these airlines are just not cutting anyone a break anymore :headache:
