We find out soon if we are having a boy or girl, how do we tell my parents and his mom and little sis? I need your creative ideas!

Being a grandparent, I wouldn't want to know. I like surprises.

That's true, we haven't asked his mom if she wants to know. I will ask her 1st. But my parents are going crazy like me waiting!

Sonya, My oldest DS and his wife are expecting at the end of May. MY FIRST GRANDCHILD!!! Monday, they went to the doctor for an ultrasound and to find out the sex of the baby. I was going to be in Oglebay, WV with DM and youngest DS to see the Christmas lights. I made sure to give them my cell phone number and told them to call me as soon as they left the doctor! In the middle of dinner down there my cell phone rang. The baby had his/her legs crossed and they were unable to tell! They were told they would do another ultrasound in about 8 weeks! I hope I can wait that long!:Pinkbounc
I want to know so I can start sewing & buying!!!

I would buy a truck or a doll depending on the sex of your baby, box it, wrap it give it to them. I don't think that is to creative but for me that's pretty good:D

I'm just wishing you luck that you are able to find out the sex since you want to know! Our DD was not shy at all to our complete delight, but we've had a few friends whose babies would not reveal themselves until the big day! :)

I'll tell you what we did, I didn't involve my parents but it could, if you can handle suspense!

With my last pregnancy(3rd), my Dh was, yet again, not able to be at the ultrasound appt (work). He was so bummed out that I was going to find out before he would again. So I gave the technician a piece of pretty paper and an envelope and asked her to write down the sex of the baby and seal the results in the envelope and be sure NOT to tell me!!! Later that day we, as a family, watched the sonagram video and all voted on what we 'thought' the baby was. The honor of opening the envelope was given to my then 7 yo DD. The surprize was that she couldn't read it! It was written in cursive!!!!(we hadn't thought of that!)...It said, "Congratuulations! It's a girl!"...yet another momento for the baby book and alot of fun for everyone!

If any of the grandparents are interested in 'knowing', this would be a very special way to celebrate it, IMO. As long as you don't mind. Just a thought..:) Good luck, how exciting!!!!

I love poohandwendy's idea, that must have been awesome. Another idea, but not as fun, would be to send them flowers, pink for a girl, blue for a boy, with a note that says "Love from your future grandbaby".

Congratulations!!!

With my first, DH didnt want to know, but I had to find out. I didnt think it was right to tell other people before him so I had to lie to everyone and say they couldnt tell what it was. This wasnt fully a lie because after the 1st ultrasound the tech just gave me a guess. DS was curled up in a ball so much that when I went for my appt the next month, she had to do another ultrasound because she couldnt get good shots of his bladder & kidneys.
With 2nd, DS DH wanted to know. Had he been a girl I was going right to the Disney Store to buy the cutest Halloween costume I had seen there. I had planned to show that to everyone(I was concinved he was a girl). But turned out he was "definitely a boy" as the tech said, so I just told family. I didnt have a good plan.
Maybe you could buy a Mickey or Minnie stuffed animal. Or ask them what name they like better(if you have a few names picked out for each a boy & girl) I like the flower idea too.

and this is their first baby......so they want to know too.....and I am soooooo anxious I can hardly wait.....a few more weeks and they go for their ultrasound.......My daughter didnt know for her daughter ..but they sure did know for their son......and just want them to have a nice healthy baby......sex comes in second......there are just so many outfits that one can buy that is unisex.....

The Minnie or Mickey idea is great!!!
Ya see-girls play with trucks and
boys play with dolls. Girls love blue and
boys like pink until their friends tell them
not to. Don't buy into the societal boxes
of sexual stereotypes even b4 your DBaby
is born, eh? I know, I should lighten up-LOL-
but why not stick with Disney when U can?!
Have fun! whatever the gender of your baby!!!
A child brings with them SO many mysteries, the
gender is minor in comparison.

We did this as baby shower favors, but you could just adapt it down for a few people.

Buy the full size Hershey Bars. You can make a template out of blue or pink paper where only the letters SHE (for a girl) or HE (for a boy) are visible. You cut out the paper in the size of the wrapper, and cut the 'window' out so you can only see HE or SHE.

If you want to do this, email or PM me, and I will get you better directions. I know this is vague, but it's early, and I am still caffeine deprived. ;)

I would send them flowers that are either pink or blue with a little balloon that says "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl" whatever the case may be. :) That's how I told my ex we were having a girl.

Good ideas everyone! I talked to my MIL and she does want to know so everyone will be told. Now if the babe will tell us!

Good ideas, more creative than mine! I'm thinking my SIL and MIL will like the video of the sonogram one, but I haven't decided on what to do for my parents yet.

Thanks! And if there are any more ideas floating around, feel free to share! I like hearing your ideas.
