DD5 only had hers don a month ago and I dont want to take them out yet. (Last week one fell out in her sleep and it was tough to get it back in! They even bled again!)

So for gym class they must be taped. I feel silly asking...DO I use scotch tape and just wrap aroung her lobe?

Thanks in advance!

I would put band aids over them. One band aid should cover front and back.

I've never heard of having to tape earrings for p.e. before. Is this common? Why?

My daughter had to do this last year for gym. She just used bandaids. This was to prevent someone from getting hurt. All jewelry was banned.

If bandaids are too sticky (leaving residue on the earring, hair getting stuck in it, etc) try the paper tape found in the first aid aisle. It is much less gooey than bandaids!

If they're posts, maybe just put a little circle bandaid on the front. Chances are they won't bother you if they can see the earring in the back.

I have not seen them myself, but Claire's sells a "cover/guard" for newly pierced ears. Several girls on DD's softball team had to get them during ball season. No jewelry or metal of any kind was allowed and several girls had newly pierced ears. If I remember correctly, it is some type of a plastic piece.
