How do I start designing?

I would love to start trying to do some graphic design. But I need a little help getting started...

Where do I start?
What kind of computer program do I use?
Where do you get all of the Disney graphics to alter and design around?
I am sure I will have many other questions, but those are just the first couple that come to my mind. I know you are all so good at what you do and will be a wealth of information! Thanks

Hi Christi,

there is a thread posted on the top of the page with links to sites where you can find images and clipart, here is a link to it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=892906

most designers use photo-impact, photoshop, or in my case Paintshoppro, now known as CorelX or CorelXI. I think there are a few more programs like them, but I think these are the most used.
