How do I purchase an AP

I know this sounds silly, but how do I purchase an
AP Pass? Trying to get an AP rate for Dec.

You can buy it at any Disney store, or online.
You dont need to have it to book your room, BUT, you DO need to have it when you check in, otherwise, the rate becomes the rack rate.
Also, it does not have to be activated at the time of check in, just as long as you have the voucher to present when you do check-in. We have done this numerous times, and activate our passes right after checking in.

AP's are also available (to qualified personnel) from Shades of Green. During their construction, they maintain a ticket office in the Contemporary North Garden Wing.

We just purchased one through the disneyworld.com website last night and it was so easy. Just go to the tickets section and go through the options for the type of annual pass(es) you need. They charge it right away and the voucher will arrive in about 2 weeks (fine since we don't leave until 10/19/03).

Can't wait to activate it in October!!!!

Do you activate the AP at the parks?

Yep,
You activate them at customer relations (or services) or whatever it is called just outside the gates at all the parks. It is the same place where you can buy tickets if you need to.

My Disney Club membership just expired so I won't be able to get the discount on my AP sob, so I really have to focus on making it down 2 or three times this year. Life could be worse

We just booked our AP rates for december, and the CM at CRO told us that they passes needed to be activated at check-in or we would be charged rack rate. Can anyone else comfirm what Doc and Family said about vouchers being enough for the AP rate?

The official policy is that you must have an active AP at checkin in order to get the AP rate. They are completely within their rights to charge you rack rate if you only have the voucher.

However, most people report only having to show the voucher. Still others have said they don't need to show ANYTHING.

If you want to play it safe, best to activate your AP before checking in.

I just called CRO to inquire after reading your post. They told me that as long as I had the voucher in hand, they would honor the discount. We have done it this way 4 or 5 times now. However, if they insist, then you just have to go to the park and activate them before checking in. Easy to do and you don't have to enter the park, even. You could try to check in and if they ask for the activated pass, tell them you will be back to check in later, then go activate them.
Official policy, however, is they should be activated, but they have never given us a problem.
I called my mom, who has been going and getting AP's and discounts for years before us, and she stated the same thing.
Still, if it eases your mind, it is very easy to activate them.
When in Dec?? We will be there 12/26-1/1.

We were planning on stopping at Ocala on our way in and buying out AP's. Am I correct that I can do this and is it the cheapest way to get them?

SlightlyGoofy--Yes, you can purchase AP's in Ocala. DH & I did just that two years ago. We plan to do the same in Dec. I called to confirm that this can still be done. We will use our DC card for the discount and receive an activated AP, not a voucher.

Is there a time limit for activating your voucher from the time you buy. Our APs expire in November and we won't be going back until May.

Vickie, I don't know about that but I know you can at the front entrances of each park.


Manning, I am under the impression that there is no time limit on how long you have to activate your vouchers. Have often wondered why people do not buy ahead and save big bucks on all the increases. Maybe they know something I do not?
