How do I move my placeholder to a real reservation?

DH and I booked a placeholder cruise last year and want to book our cruise on Thursday when summer 2017 booking becomes available. I have my reservation # for my placeholder cruise. What do I need to do to put it on an actual reservation? My reservation is listed under a travel agent so will he have to do it? TIA!

Yes, the TA will have to do it. And I believe it's only done via phone call, not online.
