How do I make room/reservations requests at OKW?

Do I just make them when I book with MS? When we were just at the Polynesian 2 weeks ago I faxed my request and got it (was so excited!). I read somewhere that there isn't a fax request number for OKW...or is there a better way? I don't want to be on the road for my first trip "home".

Ask MS to put your requests on your reservation. The DVC resorts do not accept/consider faxes for making room assignments.

OKW often uses "room ready" assignments, so try to arrive at the resort early in the day. You can repeat your requests when you check in - most here report that they get their requests that way. And of course you know that there are no guarantees.

The best way to make your requests is through Member Services when you make the reservation. Please keep in mind that the more specific you are (like bedroom on the left with a sunrise in the morning in building #1234), the less likely you will get your request. CMs at the DVC resorts do their best to fulfill our requests. They do not want phone calls, faxes, etc.

You could also add ground floor, second floor, top floor to the possible requests.

We used to request a specific area (South Point), but lately we only request non-smoking for medical reasons and just take our chances with where we will be. I have never been truely disappointed with any unit at OKW. I never thought I would like to stay in building 13 because of it's location, but we ended up there in December, and I loved it! I would just make any medical requests you have and if you want to be near a pool or if you must have the second door to the bathroom (buildings 30 and above) for living room guests. We have been on all floors and many different locations, but I can honestly say, even though some were not as good as others, I was never disappointed in any location.

We have done well just requesting the absolute basic of what we need...non-smoking. We also like the Southpoint area, but have been in other areas and been just as pleased. In general, there is not a bad view at OKW...you are looking at a woods view, a water view or a golf view for the most part.
