How do I make a ressie with a guide?

We are going to CR in late September. I'd like to tour the BLT while we are there. We have been thinking of buying into DVC for years, but have always found an excuse not to. Now with BLT, we may have found a home!

Anyway- can I just make an appointment once I arrive, or is it something that I should schedule ahead of time? I assume once it is open that there will be rooms there to tour (and not at SSR).

Thanks for any input!

The sales office is at SSR and that is where the BLT models are located. Assuming you have visited or contacted DVC before, you will already be assigned a guide. It is always a good idea to call ahead and book an appointment. Good luck to you!

When you arrive they have multiple locations in each park that are for DVC. Any of them can schedule a tour while you are there.

You can do like we did. Walk up to one of the DVC kiosks/desks at the theme parks or resorts and ask for more information. They will schedule the DVC van to pick you up at your resort or some other location and take you to the models. The van will usually take you back to your resort or some other location as well.

You don't need to arrange this ahead of time.

we just booked a tour. It is a 90 minute tour but do i pick the DVC i want to visit or is it they take you to all the DVC models? lookig forward to seeing BLT

As I stated above, the "tour" will be at the SSR sales office. They have BLT models set up there. Enjoy! :)

:confused3 I know the guides aren't supposed to communicate sales info. via email but I thought we could communicate SOME by email on other matters. Anyway, I emailed my guide a couple of weeks ago to see if we could hook up while we're at SSR over Memorial Day weekend and he never even answered me at all. Not by email or by phone. So I guess if we want to see the BLT models we'll just show up whenever it works for us and talk to whoever's there when we go. I am not going to expend a lot of time & effort trying to track him down if he can't bother to reply to me. (The evening Members hours won't work out for us as it's a short weekend trip & we have dinner ressies & such so I thought we could see what hours he was working while we were there.) But so oh well.

Sorry, they are not allowed email communication with clients. There are member open house times each day (late afternoon I think) when DVC members are welcome to go over and tour the BLT models. No need to make an appointment with your Guide. You would only need the Guide if you were going to go ahead and add on. We stopped over during open house on our last trip in September and loved them! There were quite a few members touring at the same time. They have DVC associates (not Guides) there to help out. I am sure if you want to view them during other hours, they could make arrangements for you. Hope you get a chance to view them.

But he could've (should've) called me about it. I gave my phone number in the email & just asked if he was going to be around that weekend. I think it was wrong that he ignored my email altogether and did not respond.

The email was just a heads up to let him know we were coming for just a few nights but that we have other plans during the normal member open house hours, which I believe are in the evenings. We have never met him face to face, I have only talked to him over the phone. I thought since we're staying at SSR this next trip that it would be convenient to try to hook up & meet him live and in person at the models. I want to see this goofy configuration on the BLT studios with the "bathenette" combo (bathroom/kitchen) before I attempt to make a ressie there one day.

I would like to think, if the Guide is allowed, that he would have called you if he received your email request. However, there is the chance that your email never reached him. It could have gone into a spam folder hence he would not know to call you.

I would definitely call and leave him a phone message. I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt... :)

I think you will love BLT, and I am sure you don't need an appointment with your Guide to just view them. The only thing I did not like about them, was no balcony access off the living room in the one bedroom. That would be something that my family would miss...
