On our last trip my DD 13 backed out and didn't go, so her ticket was never activated. Now we're going without her again, and I want to use that ticket for one of us (Save $$). Is there any reason why I can't have my DD age 4 use it? Again - the ticket was never activated. My DD-4 has never been finger scanned before because she was under the age of 3 last time around.

Also, since the price has gone up, will I have to pay anything to upgrade this ticket?

Thanks.

You won't have a problem since it is an unactivated tix. Anyone could use it at this point. But I'm not sure why you would want to use an adult tix for a child. Seems like a waste of $$$$.

DD13's ticket will be an adult ticket, but I supposed they'd let a child use it because it has never been activated. An adult in your party could also use it. If you ever intend to go again, I'd hold that ticket and use it for an adult. Buy DD4 her own child's ticket. You'll save money in the long run because of the price differential. I think that as long as the ticket hasn't been activated, it doesn't really "belong" to any particular person.

I would check with Disney since it has never been used they may be able to change it to a childs ticket and credit you money back. We bought tickets along time ago before we knew about the Fl resident ticket and when we got there they let us exchange them and credited money back.

If it has never been activated, meaning she never put it into a ticket reader and did a finger scan using it, then it is just an adult ticket that is good for any adult.

Buy the 4 year old her own ticket, dont' waste an adult ticket on a kid, like the other posters stated.

Problem is... this may be the only way we can go. I already have a ticket, so I just need to buy one for each of my kids (5 & 3). I hate to buy both kids a ticket when I have one already there to use. I will look into it though. Thanks.

Give them a ring! I'm sure they'd let you exchange it for a child's ticket and probably even give you a refund for the unused difference.

I would hold on to the adult ticket and buy two kids tickets. One, you will pay more for an adult ticket in the future since they keep raising prices. That ticket is locked into the price you paid which is already less than todays prices. If you try to exchange it/get a refund, most likely they will base the refund on the current price (unless you can prove what you paid for it).

1) The youngster can't use the adult child's ticket.
2) At the park admission turnstiles, the CM will stop her. *
3) Kids cant' use adult tickets and visa-versa.

* The ticket machine identifies the ticket as adult or child. They instantly know it is not her ticket. Since tickets are non-transferable, they will refuse her admission. Based upon the CM, they have the right to actually confiscate the ticket as bogus or transferred.

In practically all cases Disney knows how much they received for the ticket. Ticket values for trade up purposes is normally based on the amount Disney received, which is somewhat less than gate price for tickets purchased from non-Disney outlets. There are a few exceptions including tickets purchased directly from Disney and from Disney Stores being valued at gate price as of date of printing.

Generally, unused tickets are transferable.

Generally, no change is returned if or when a ticket is permitted to be traded in for a different kind of ticket.
