I am new to this board, so forgive me if this has been asked and answered;)

I read in the other post about EA that DC members can get a membership for free. I went to disneyclub.com and they only had National offers, but no link or info on how to sign up for EA. I checked my packet that came with my DC card and couldn't find anything there either (but maybe I threw something away (?)).

Any help is appreciated!! :sunny:

I'm fairly sure that offer ended several months ago.

Sadly, you also missed two other free Emerald Club membership offers that ended 6/30.

Maybe some new ones will come out soon...

The offers on the National site and Biztravel.com did expire in June, but the Disney Club offer is listed as being valid until Sept. 1. I just checked on it myself because only DH has a card now and I'm leaving him home next trip;)

The Disney Club site says to call 877-603-0486 for a fee-waived application.

I just called the DC # last weekend to find out about this. The person I spoke with didn't know about the free membership, but looked it up and gave me the same # listed above to call. That guy told me he's send the application out, but we haven't gotten it yet. Hopefully, everything will be processed by our trip at the end of August. National changed their policy of allowing spouses to drive the cars without an additional charge, so my husband needs his own card.
*****New info. Just e-mailed National for clarification of their policy on spouses driving the vehicle, since we got our applications today and the brochure says that family members MAY drive the vehicle without an additional charge. I think the National website is very misleading. It speaks about "business associates" being able to drive the car without extra charge, but no one else. I got a reply that this statement is for Non-EC people who rent. If you belong to EC, family members living under the same roof can drive the car (if 25 years or older). Sorry for any confusion I might have caused.

You can go to a National location and do the whole thing right there, or you can have the application faxed to you.

For those of you looking for the DC offer, On the DC member's site, do a search for "rental cars" in the LOWER LEFT search box on the site. It will bring up all of the National offers. I agree with MaryAnn, once you receive your master agreement in the mail, fill it out and take it to your nearest National Car rental location for processing, they will issue your Emerald Club number on the spot. It's much faster than mailing or even faxing back and forth.:D

I just mailed away my "Fee Waived" application at the beginning of the week. It said 4-6 weeks on it to receive your "EC" card. I hope it doesn't take that long, but our trip isn't until Oct, so I guess I have time. I wish we could just sign up online.

Thanks everybody! We will be at the airport in a few weeks so I can stop by the National counter while I'm there.

Workinmom I think you can sign up on line. When i spoke to them on the phone they said you cant to it on the phone just by mail or on line. Michelle

I have been trying all weekend to get through to the 800 number for the free DC membership in EA. All I have been getting is "please wait for the next available agent". Does anyone know if they are open on the weekends? If so, has anyone had any luck getting through?

I tried one day & was on hold for about 25 minutes before I hung up. I tried again the next day & only had to hold for about 10 min, but I don't remember if it was a weekend. I don't think it was. When I got through, the lady took my address etc...& mailed my the "Fee waived" form. Good luck getting through!!!

The fastest way to join (that I know of) is to call them, have them fax you the form (it will say "fee waived" on it), fill it out, and head to a National Rental counter. You'll get a EC card right there.
