How do I get to Volcano Bay from HRH?

What are the options available to get from the Hard Rock to Volcano Bay? We will be checking in early and are hoping to make it to VB in time for early entry. Just wondering how much time I have to factor in to get there once we check in and drop our bags off (as I highly doubt our room will be ready). We've never been to Universal before so any detailed help would be appreciated!

Buses run every 15 minutes starting at 7 am. Only about a short drive to VB.

The only way to get to VB is via shuttle which will drop you off in front of VB. We stayed at Portofino, and the shuttle picked up at Portofino first, then HRH. To be first in line for early entry, get to the shuttle stop by 6:45am. Good luck!

Yikes - there's no way we'll be there in time for 6:45. I'm hoping that would be to make it to an 8 am early entry? We're going late August and it looks like it opens at 10 am so I'm assuming early entry will be at 9. If we get to the shuttle stop by 8 would that be way too late?

Sorry, I didn't clarify. Yes, 6:45am was for the 8am early entry. If you get to the shuttle stop by 8am, you should still be good for early entry. They didn't start screening until about 7:30am, then we had to wait in another line to get our Tapus. It may sound like a lot of waiting (which it is!), but early entry is well worth it to ride a few rides before the regular crowds get in.
