Can I walk to the TTC and get the monorail to Epcot and then go through the World Showcase somehow? I heard something about a boat. Where would I pick this up at? Also how dressed up do I need to be for the Flying Fish? Thanks:confused:

I will be at AK that day and wish I could go right over to the Boardwalk but I think we would need to freshen up a bit.

You could, but I wouldn't!

That's a LOT of walking! Do you realize taht it's over a mile from the monorail stop just to the back gate at Epcot? And then another 1/4 mile + from the back gate to the Flying Fish!

Here's what I would do--take the monorail to the MK, and then switch for the bus to the BW. On the way back if the MK is still open do the same, otherwise just take a cab--it'sll run $15 with tip.

The Flying Fish doesn't have a dress code that I'm aware of, however I'd suggest resort casual--chino's and a golf shirt for him, capris and a nice top or sundress for her--or something along those lines.

Yes, you can walk through Future World & World Showcase & out through 'International Gateway' (between UK & France) & then take the boat to Boardwalk. Remember you will need a ticket or hand-stamp to get into Epcot. By the time you have walked from Epcot's monorail station, you will have covered two thirds of the distance to Flying Fish. Unless there is a boat at the dock getting ready to leave you will save time if you just keep on walking. The bridge you will see just beyond the boat dock is the end of the Boardwalk.

The other alternative is bus to MGM, then boat or walk.

Remember to book your dinner early enough to get back before Epcot or MGM closes, you don't want to have to change buses at Downtown on the way back.

You don't need to get dressed up any more than you would for any other restaurant dinner. I think the term Disney uses is 'Resort Casual'.

One more question: Can I get the bus for the Boardwalk at the TTC instead of at the Magin Kingdom?

You need to go to the MK. All Resort busses pickup/drop off at the MK, not the TTC.

The ONLY resorts with buses to or from TTC are Wilderness Lodge & Campsite. The Boardwalk, despite all its bars, restaurants & other entertainments, still counts as a resort.

Ducklite's suggestion or my own are the only sensible options.

By the way, I can attest to Ducklites comment about the distance from Epcot Monorail station to the Boardwalk. A few years back I did that trip (in reverse) in a manual wheelchair. I took the boat to the International Gateway then fought my way up the hill towards the UK. Next bit was downhill but I ran out of steam just past Canada. I was ready to give up by the time I got to Spaceship Earth. I decided to go for the bus as I didn't have the strength to change monorails to get to Grand Floridian. The bus station is almost half way between Epcot monorail and TTC or so it seemed. Never again!!

Andrew,

Thanks for your advice I will heed it wisely. The Magic Kingdom closes early that day so coming home may be a problem and walking through Epcot seems alot for our 5 year old. I don't want to have to go Downtown Disney either. Would my best bet be a cab to come home?

Will MGM still be open? If so you can take the boat from the BW over to MGM and then a bus back to the BW.

The other 2 options would be the bus from the BW to DTD and then the bus back to the poly.

Check out the closing time of MGM. If its open late enough, you can take a boat trom Boardwalk dock and a bus from right opposite the MGM dock. Your five-year-old might enjoy the boat ride. If you time it right, you might even get to see the Fantasmic! fireworks!

The bell stand at Boardwalk Inn will call you a cab. Just turn sharp left and go back on yourself once leaving Flying Fish, walk all the way down the cloister & go in the last door on the left. There is a lift there up to the Boardwalk Lobby.

Thanks again ! So I guess a rule of thumb to follow is get to the closest park that is still open and take a bus from there to your destination.

Frankiemom,

Going Off Topic.

Seeing as you are so close, your five-year-old might enjoy a walk aroung the Boardwalk lobby before or after dinner.

There are wonderful antique models of a carrosel and roller coaster in the lobby, plus a model of a hotel shaped like an elephant. All, I think, from the funfairs in New York. There is also an oversized sofa so that adults can remember what it was like to be a child at the sea-side.

The Bellvue bar off the lobby has old board games and old radio shows playing like Jack Benny and the Shadow.
