How do I get there?

I was just wondering if I will have enough time to go from the Poly our resort to dinner at Boma for 6, then to the Yacht club for 8 for an illuminations cruise.
Do you think I will have enough time using Disney Trans. or would I need to get a cab? If I should use a cab, how do I get one?

Not sure about transportation time from AKL to Yacht Club, but you will have to take transportation to a park, it will not go resort to resort. I also wanted to let you know that because you have and ADR for 6pm doesn't mean you will be seated by 6, you could wait around awhile for a table to open up and you may have to rush through your meal.

If you need a cab...the check-in drive-way of the resorts usually has a few cabs waiting for passengers who need one.

You will not have time using DT nor will you make it if you take a cab. Like the other poster said you are not guaranteed to be seated at 6 and you really don't have time, even if you did, to eat and then get to the YC for your Illuminations Cruise.
Might I suggest going to the YC or BW for a nice dinner at 5pm and then ease over to the cruise because you will be right there so you won't have to worry about transportation other than taking the bus from the Poly to MGM and then a bus or the World Walkway or a boat to the BW or YC. There are tons of places in this area to have a quality sit down dinner.

BOMA is quite a ways from both the Poly and YC. Even if you got seated at 6:00 pm at BOMA and really rushed, you would still be pushing it with your own transportation (it's a NO WAY with Disney's bus transportation). Knowing how difficult it is to snag an Illuminations cruise, why risk being late? Places to eat in the area of the Yacht club marina are Yachtsman Steakhouse, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Cape May Cafe, ESPN club, Beaches & Cream.

I agree with the others, these are scheduled to close together. You will never make your Illuminations cruise. You need to be at the Marina 15 minutes before your scheduled cruise, so that would mean 7:45.
I like the suggestion to eat at the YC/BC or Boardwalk area at 5 that night. There are lots of great restaurants in that area. I have enjoyed Cape May Cafe - a "clambake buffet", Beaches and Cream for burgers, Big River Grille for "pub grub", ESPN Club for "pub grub" Flying Fish for fine dining and lastly Yachtsman Steakhouse, also fine dining. We have not eaten at Spoodles but it gets good reviews.
If you are not able to fit Boma into your itinerary on another night, it just becomes one of the many reasons to start planning a return trip when you get home.
