How Do I Get The Magic Back?

Sounds like you got Disney burn out.

It happens...especially being DVC members...... Time for a break!

Things to try:

A Disney or non Disney cruise- took my 1st Disney cruise and LOVED it. OMG, you get the Disney magic! but in a new venue....

A vacation at Vero Beach....it's fairly boring if you like the nonstop park action, but its a very lovely and relaxing vacation...lots of sports, beach, pool.etc

Try discovery Cove/Seaworld or. Universal. Discovery Cove has the swim with dolphins and then you can go to aquatica and Seaworld for 10-14 days after.. A Change of parks is refreshing.......I loved the merchandise they sold.....I thought the prices were great and each store had a different selection.

Try different resorts and spend time there....that's the best part of DVC...we always do a split stay.........the AKL or BW will keep you busy.... Most resorts have bikes, boats etc ......we usually take a few resort days.

Go to DL

Go to Hawaii.

Go during F&W or F&G.

Do a dinner show or character dinner you never done before.

I'm 47 been DVC members for 9 years, now we are fl res...and I've been to Disney almost every year since I Was 14........I love it but some trips are better than others....... We took our dd who was 18 months her 1st trip and she hated it.......then her 2nd trip she loved it and her 3rd-10th trip she loved it. But now they are getting bored with it.. So we are doing the other parks.

Our last trip was in Dec, studio at BLT for weekend....we live 1.5 hour away....we planned to go to Seaworld for their Christmas shows on sat with our annual pass, then our car started acting up 1/2 hour before we arrived ...we almost didn't make it to hotel......but we did. Disney was great, they towed our car for free, tried to fix it Sat and said we'd have our car by 4....then discover they didn't fix it....and they were closed on Sunday....so we had to rent a car ......right then and there...thank goodness we got a great rate......got our rental car, tried to go to Seaworld at 5:45...... It starts raining....traffic getting off premises was horrible....now it 6:30 and we are starving.....went to eat at Qdoba and then decided at 7:15 to ditch the Seaworld plans... Talk about being bummed... I planned the Seaworld trip at Christmas because the year before I was so impressed with it and we had the perfect day, great crowds, weather and entertainment....... But we went to TOWL at the BLT and watched wishes and just enjoyed Disney.....

After we got home disney still could've fix the car......had to tow it to dealership...and DH had to go back the following sat and we had to rent the car for a week. Trip before, dd was sick the whole time........so much for F&W.

The magical trips still happen.....like my 1st Disney cruise recently .......considering our last Cruise (non Disney) poor DH got sick and got confined to an indoor cabin( we had a mini-suite) for 3 days.... So just take a break and try something else.....for awhile.

Well we had the same nonDisney experience in Oct. there for 3 weeks and did not enjoy ourselves The bands and FP + were frustrating and stressful and we spent a lot more time in the room! If you complain on DVC board or here people respond by telling you how great it is to not have to get up early etc . I feel Disney paid a lot of money for this and they are going to make you use it tough on you. We usually go 3 weeks in March too but didn't even book this year, but now sons family wants to go for 3 days so we are going back for a week. We will see....we did talk after bad oct trip of selling some or all of our contracts( have 3). Very sad, this was my happy place. The feeling and planning with these MB takes all the joy out.:( :(

Give it some times and go again. However expect nothing and you might be pleasantly surprised.

I started feeling this way in my early 20s. Didn't get my Disney mojo back until we brought our first child last year. Also, we went with extended family we don't get to see often, which was really fun.

That is a shame you didn't feel the magic. We were there Feb 5-10 and while the weather didn't cooperate, we had a magical trip. Crwods were not bad, and found CMs as friendly as ever especially at YC. MBs and FP+ all worked better than expected and we had a great trip.

I'm in the same boat.

We are rethinking our trip and it is not just ONE thing.

Its,

Rude Cast Members
Cost
Food Quality

I would say those are the top three, not in that order.

If you're not feeling it this year, bank your DVC points and take a year off. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Staying off site takes the magic away for me, too. So does only getting to go a day or two here or there. Put space between now and your next trip. All will be well :)

Yes, we stayed at Caribe Royale in December for a quick weekend getaway. By the time we knew we were going there were few rooms and no Disney discounts so we went with a secret booking at hotwire for $80 a night. The Caribe is an amazing resort, we were thrilled with it. Just wasn't the same as onsite though.
