How do I get the DIS on my cellphone?

I keep seeing people say they are posting from their cellphones. I entered the usual DISboard address to the CB into my cellphone Browser, and my cellphone kind of laughed at me saying you know the Board uses waaaaaay to much memory to load the first page of threads for the DIS.

Is there a special URL link without all the fancy DIS graphics, etc., that my cell phone will load, so I can read the DIS on it and post?

There is a DISMobile Skin/Theme you can change to. I would guess that you would have to do that from home before you go out so.

I don't think that would work unless her cell phone automatically signs her in to the board. It would still have to load the first page for her to be able to log in to view the different skin.

I think you're just out of luck. What cell phone do you have?

There is an app for the iPhone that I use. I can't remember the bane though. Will have to post again with the info.

It is called e-ticket. I can also type the adress in my safari (Internet) address bar and it works fine. What kind of phone do you have?

I have an LG 290. It's one of the first Tracfone Internet capable cellphones. So, I wasn't sure if it just doesn't have enough memory capabilities, (which sounds like the issue,) or if there was another URL for the CB. It does load the DIS welcome page, but the CB threads page, it says is way too big.

When you get to the Dis Main Page then scroll all the way down to the bottom left corner and you can change the "theme" to the DISMobile which is basically just black and white text-- no frills.

Sounds like a phone or service issue. I access and post from a verizon Htc incredible straight from the web with no problems.

I just use Google on my Droid to get to DIS and sign in that way. The Droid is pretty much just a mini-computer anyway so it works just like a computer. The Droids, Iphones and Blackberry's are all pretty much like that and those are the ones you really see people posting from. I know my DD's phone is internet capable but I couldn't imagine trying to surf the net from her phone.

I can help with this one. I would and download OperaMini for your phone. It will let surf the net with full web pages. I have a LG Prime and the browser that come with the phone sucks. I download operamini and made a world difference.

I am only going by what you see when you get to the DIS on the computer. I am making an ( probably wrong) assumption that if you get to the main forum page it will be like it is usually seen so that is how you change the skin. But I don't have surfing on my phone so I can only guess. Sorry, not trying to sound like I actually know what I am doing--I should have posted a DISclaimer!

Go WAY down, all the way to the bottom there is a drop-down box where you can change the "theme". It will change the colors of your page on your computer (things like FL Tours, Christmas, Tour Guide Mike, etc.) In there you will find the "mobile" version too.

Are you looking on your phone or your computer? Are we talking about the same thing? This is something that you can change on THIS site, where you are logged in on your computer-not something to download on your phone.

I tried to scroll down on my cellphone. The darn page is too long. I never made it all the way down to see if there was a way to change the skin.

I was able to change to mobile and works great with out all graphics.

I really would download operamini it great browser for the phone. I don't even use the browser that comes with my phone.

Any chance we'll ever get Tapatalk installed so we can access Dis more readily? It's free, and it works well on my Droid X.
