I am so sick of the people in my neighborhood who walk their dogs and proceed to let them poop all over my yard. I am tempted to baggie it up and put it on their doorsteps.....

We had two BIG dogs, until recently Lilly, the eldest passed away - so now we only have Gator...but we NEVER let them poop in other's yards!!

You answered your own question in the first line-bag it and deliver.

If you know who did it, then by all means baggie it up and put it on their doorstep with a note attached saying "I saw one of your family members drop this on my lawn" (but don't sign it :smooth: ).

Yep with a thank you but I have my own note :stir:

Try one of these :smokin:

I saw a house that had little signs around the perimeter of the yard. They were cute and non-accusatory -- that would probably keep people from doing it out of spite.

If you see them actually doing it, I would make a point of walking outside right then and looking at them. Hand them a bag if you see they don't have one.

We have an older man around the corner who has the little sign about not letting your dog poop in his yard, and HE is the one I see letting his dog do it in other people's yard and not picking it up, he also likes to toss his cigarette butt's in people's yards.

I like the sign in the yard! Or, you could leave a plastic bag with the contents and a note attached on the doorstep. "Your dog forgot something when he was visiting our yard recently, and I just wanted to make sure he got it back." :rotfl2:

I have to admit, I actually have one of those signs but have never put it up. I bought it because it's a problem in our neighborhood too. :rolleyes1

I had a neighbor who was letting his dog go in our yard so I typed up an official looking letter and quoted the county ordinances concerning loose dogs and their "deposits". They moved out a couple of weeks after that (they were renting).

Were I lived before I had this problem. The neighbor's dog always did his business in my yard. I just got a shovel and let it fly!!!!!

We had a neighbor who let their dog just walk around and "poop" anywhere. This is when we didn't even have a dog, I was sick of picking it up. One day DH saw the dog in front of our house, he went to the neighbor and told them to come pick up what their dog did.

We have a dog now and when I walk her I can't beleive how people don't pick up, I always walk with a couple of bags. One day I was walking her and the bag fell out of my pocket someplace. I would have gone home got a bag and went back, but my neighbor was out and gave me one. I would never just leave it.

I think I am going to get a big water soaker and shoot it at the owners the next time it happens.

When we lived in a neighborhood, I did this. The people next door ,had a fenced yard, but they let the dog out of the fenced part and yep, over into our yard he came and pooped. I would scoop it up and toss it over the fence. The man seen me do this one time and confronted me, How do you know its not your dogs poop, he asked.
I had 2 big collies at the time, his dog was a toy poodle. I think I could tell the difference between the poop. Gross but true.

My dad was working under the porch one day, and the lady up the street walked by and let her dog poop on our lawn. She never saw my dad. But she did see him when he picked it up in a shovel and threw it back on their lawn.

Well, I don't know if this would work for you, but I had this lady in my ceramics class last semester who had these neighbors who let their dog poop on her yard every time even after she asked them not to, and their little boy threw rocks at their car and flipped her off all of the time so one day she picked up the poop with a plastic bag and threw it on their house. :thumbsup2

I am a dog owner and lover. I have often lived in an apartment or condo - I only "walked" my dog right outside of my unit - and I picked it up.

Now if I walk my dog down the street (not often he's 13), I won't even let him pee in someone's yard - much less anything else. I make him go in the street, and I pick it up. I would never let him pee on people's garbage and recycling bins - yuck.

Many years ago I shared a fence with my next door neighbor at a condo. Their dogs would dig under the fence and come in and poop on MY PATIO. I'd mentioned it nicely that they were getting in my yard to no avail.

Finally I'd just had it. I was furious. They needed to put a barrier on their side to stop the dogs as they could just knock down anything I put up from my side.

They always left their garage door open. I picked up several days worth of poop and deposited it right in front of their door from their house into the garage. If they didn't step in it when they left home, they had to take a BIG step over it. The problem was resolved that day.

If you see it happening, you should speak to them about it immediately - rather than resorting to "water soakers".. Just handle it in a calm, mature manner..

We are unfortunate enough to have a fire hydrant in front of our house. Good in case of a fire, bad because it seems like every dog stops to pee on it. By the end of the summer, all the grass is yellowed and dying around it. It's sad.

That's the problem, both my husband and I have asked repeatedly - esp this one woman. And we were nice, calm etc and now it seems she purposely does it. Do you know what I mean? And this is a grown woman probably in her 40's or 50's.

I don't want my girls and I to have to worry abour running around our own yard worrying about whether we are going to step in poop!
