How do I get Orbitz Confirmation Number

I've linked my Orbitz RO reservation to MDE. However, I still don't have a 12 digit Disney reservation for that res, which means I can't make room location requests. I've now called Orbitz twice. Neither agent was helpful. For those of you who have gotten the coveted Disney res number for an Orbitz res, what exactly did you do? We arrive at BC next Tuesday.

THANKS!

Every post I have read has mentioned it took multiple calls to Orbitz to finally get someone who knew how to get the Disney reservation number. Keep trying. You may have to escalate with Orbitz.

It's weird because we're doing a split stay. I booked the other portion with Travelocity. They had no problems giving me the number starting with the 4.

I want to know what to say to Orbitz. They sound like they are in India and don't know what the heck I'm talking about.

When I used the Orbitz online chat feature, the agent I was chatting with called Disney while we were interacting. I'm not sure if I was just lucky, or if the online agents are actually better than those on the phone.

If you are within 60 days of check in (or whatever the time period when online check in starts), you can find it easily:

Link your reservation on MDE (using the 6 digit/letter number Orbitz gives you immediately upon booking). Click on the "online check-in" link near that reservation in your MDE. (I'm using a laptop - not the iPad app.) Once it loads (the page that has your arrival time, room requests, etc.), look up in your URL bar thingee, copy the entire, long, URL of that page. Then paste it into a Word (or whatever) doc on your computer. It has the '4' number!

Of course, most people probably aren't booking within 60 days like me, and thus want it sooner. But I thought that might help someone.

Also, the last 3 reservations I've made, Disney sent me an email letting me know it was time to choose FP+ - for Orbitz reservations. That email had the '4' reservation number! (didn't in January when I booked a room via Orbitz; did in Feb. and March.) Go figure. Again, this would be 60 days before check in.

Amanda999,
I wish I had seen your post before calling Orbitz for the 3rd time. I just followed your instructions and you were spot on!!

Anyhow, the third time I called Orbitz, I asked them specifically to call Disney while I waited to get the number. I held for 11 minutes. But it worked! I just checked the number using your process and they match! One less thing to stress about.

It's in your "Disney" email... Once you book Orbitz sends you an email (check your spam) of Edna Mode explaining FP and other things... To the right of that video there's a box and in that box is your Disney conf. number...

So, I found the 12 digit confirmation number after doing on-line check in. When I called to have a note put on our reservation, they wouldn't do it since it was made through Orbitz. Do I need to call back and try for a different agent or is this everybody's experience?

Thanks so much for this information! My number was actually at the end of the URL without having to paste it into a Word doc. This saved so much time on the phone.

Calling Disney was hit or miss with me when I reserved through hotels.com for one trip and Orbitz for another. I would have Orbitz do this for you. I suggest you open a chat with Orbitz and ask them to call Disney and make the request for you. Working with Orbitz chat is much easier than with Orbitz call center because you can pre-write in word exactly what you want to say and paste it into the chat box. I used chat to add my kids to the reservation and it was really easy.

For example, once the chat agent comes on, you can just paste something you prewrote like this into the box:

"Hi my name is [insert your name]. My Orbitz reservation number is [insert your Orbitz reservation number (not your Disney one)]. I would like to make a special request for my room location at my upcoming stay at Disney World and when I called Disney directly they told me that Orbitz had to make that request on my behalf. Can you please call/contact Disney reservations for me and request the following room location for my stay: [insert what you want]. I will wait online while you do that. Thanks so much for your help. Please let me know if you need any other details."

Sending a text like this though chat helps the agent focus on what you have asked and there won't be as much push back as a live operator. I can't guarantee success but there is a greater likelyhood you will get what you need from them.

I also suggest their online chat vs. calling. So easy to use.

I just had to have DGD added to 2 bookings. For both I had no problems getting the new Disney "4" confirmation number. I asked at the end of the online chat where I had her added. However, neither of them actually populated to Disney and added her. I called Disney, using the newer "4" confirmation number Orbitz gave me, to ask if she showed on their system and just not in MDE. She didn't but they added her no questions asked. She immediately showed on the reservation on MDE. I needed it done so I could get her MB ordered.

But, I think folks don't realize the "4" Disney Confirmation number is available as soon as you link it to Disney. I have a stay booked for August, so 127 days away. About 12 hours after I linked the stay in MDE I got an email from Disney Destinations titled "Your WALT DISNEY WORLD vacation magic starts now". In that email is the "4" confirmation number.
