Tomorrow im off on a school trip with Cam!! Im dreading it and am only going because if i didnt he couldnt but seriously a trip round a world war 2 museum - how exciting can it get ???:lmao:
To make matters worse found out today that the other parent going is a really good friend of the friend I have fallen out so I think its going to be a stressful day.
Oh why do i do these things ???

Which museum is it, some are really good. I have taken my class (8/9 year olds) to WWII places before where the kids get to dress up, put helmets on, look at the tanks etc. They have had great fun.

Hope the day goes well for you.

I've been to the War Cabinet Rooms in London and also to the museum within the White Cliffs of Dover. Both were totally awsome. I understand that the younger generations are getting farther away from WW II and may find them boring, but if we forget what it was all about, we are destined to repeat.

Remember that this is about your chaperoning a group of children and helping them learn as much as they can. If you dedicate yourself to your group, you won't have time to worry about the other adult and you might actually learn something yourself.

Ive been to a few WW2 museums as well which are excellent. Eden Camp in Yorkshire is excellent.

DD (10) is fascinated by anything to do with history especially WW2 or the Titanic

Good for kids today to know what soldiers sacrificed their lives for :thumbsup2
bet you'll have a good day there!

I'm sure you'll have a great day and, as long as Cam enjoys it, that's all that matters surely :)

Hope you have a good day. Usually on these trips you are watching the kids all the time to be bothered with anything else.

Am sure you'll have a great day and Cam will love it. My sister is taking 20, 3-5 year olds to Norden Farm Arts Centre to see a show. She says that every few minutes some child needs to go to the toilet, so her and the other teachers are up and down, up and down - haha.

Have fun!

Tina

It's that time of year again, isn't it? I went to see A Christmas Carol at our local theatre with Olivia's class last week and it's the Christingle service with Jessica's class tomorrow. Plus Emilia's playgroup is having their Christmas party this week.

I'm sure you'll have a lovely day with Cam. The kids love it when their mum is the helper.:goodvibes

I bet you will really enjoy it in the end!
I love all that kind of stuff - I am looking forward to when we have to take the kids on trips to the Black Country Museum etc as I'm interested in history.

Totally agree:goodvibes

WW2 & around that era was the only part of history I was interested in school with. Which was handy as I ended up having to do History GCSE & that was what it was about:thumbsup2

How did the day go?

We had a city break to Berlin a couple of years ago and my kids knew far more about WWII and the cold war than DH or I did.

Make the most of the time with your children. My 16 year old has banned us from attending a presentation evening tonight - its not cool to have your parents supporting you:confused3

:thumbsup2
we had a great day!! I really dont know what I was worrying about I loved playing teacher for a day
Cam said trips are much better when you come mom - bless him x
The trip was nothing like when we were at school it wasnt a walk round exhibit it was totally hands on !!
At one point they reconstructed a black out and all the kids had to huddl ein a shelter while the noise of bombs could be heard - Fantastic.
Before today im ashamed to say i knew little about ww2 but i learnt a lot today and im so glad i went !!
Might even look into a teachers assistant course I enjoyed it that much !!!

As for the other mom i took her to one side this orning and said for the sake of the kids can we just be civil and not discuss anything and she hd no choice but to agree.
A born worrier me and there was really nothing to worry about !!!
