We are beginning our stay at the Polynesian Resort and then transferring to Saratoga Springs. We do not have a rental car. What is the best way to get our luggage from one resort to the other? Taxi? Appreciate all the wisdom out there!

Just ask the lobby front desk or bell services. They will transfer the luggage for you to SS. Just be aware, you may beat your luggage to SS which means you may have to wait for it.

Unless you head to the parks and don't return to the second resort until after dinner time, you will most assuredly beat your luggage!! I've handed my luggage off to Bell Services (at BCV and BWV) at 8:00 a.m. and have not gotten my luggage until after 5. When I was a POR, I was told by BCV my stuff would get there midafternoon. I was in my room at POR by 3:00, no luggage. It took 2 phone calls from the luggage people at POR, to Bell Services at BCV before my bags showed up at abouy 5:45....BCV told POR, at 3:30, they had been way too busy to move luggage that day. Another hour went by, no luggage, another call. It took them close to 10 hrs to move my bags from BCV to POR.
When I moved from BWV to POP, I knew it would be awhile, so planned accordingly. I checked in at POP about noonish, went off to a park. When I returned at 4:30, my bags still weren't there. I grabbed a bite to eat, and headed off to MGM. When I returned at about 9, my bags were inside my door.
So...long story short...be prepared to not see your bags for quite awhile. Take what you will need to the next resort.

When I transferred from POFQ to the Poly, I expected to leave my stuff at bell services and make my way over to the hotel by using the buses. But since I went at a quiet time, the bell lady offered to move my stuff and my family together in a van. I didn't expect it but she offered it. I've heard of others on this board having similar experiences. Naturally she got a nice tip at the end which she acted like she didn't want. I had to tell her that I really wanted to give it to her. Funny that.

Sounds like if you find yourself and your stuff separated, it might be a good idea to take your carry-on with you on the buses with swimming suits and other essientials.

We had ours moved from OKW to BCV this August and all went perfectly. We were told to tell bell service the night before and arrange a pickup time. They came promptly at 9:30AM and took our 12 bags. We spent the day at the parks and about 3:30PM we checked into the BCV and saw our bags in the baggage area as we walked by. As soon as our room was ready we called to have them bring them down and they were there in less than 10 minutes. Of course the tips for pickup and delivery of 12 bags were pretty steep, but well worth it. BTW, we had 2 rental cars, we just didn't want to deal with packing the cars then unpacking them later, so the tipping costs were well worth it for us. Of course, we kept all the extra bags and groceries with us in the car. We had packed a small cooler since we knew we had to move and didn't want the beer to get hot.

Thank you so much for all this great information! Now we know just how to plan our moving day. I appreciate everyone taking the time to explain it to me! Rock on.:cool1:

Just to reiterate others' experience. I moved last week from Pop to Poly. I called bell services at Pop, left the room, went to Poly and checked in, ate at Kona, went to the room and called bell services, and they brought the luggage. I didn't have to wait at all. I may have had to if I hadn't eaten at Kona, but we checked in around noon and had luggage by 2:30. I couldn't believe how smooth it was.

My sister and I willing going from BCV to SSR. We are thinking about doing the luggage transfer, but I am concerned about her laptop. Do you think it would be better to hand carry it to SSR or just send it with the luggage? I really wanted to leave BCV and go to a park rather than go to SSR and check in. We have AP so tickets aren't a problem.
