How do I get my DVC reservation confirmed on the DL website?

I recently rented points for a stay at VGC in December. The owner forwarded me the email with confirmation number from Disney Vacation Club. When I rented for AKV last year, I could get it to show up on my account for WDW. However, I cannot figure it out for DL. The DL page only wants an 8 digit number, and the DVC number is longer than that.

Any ideas? Or is this something that just cannot be done?

I don't believe it's possible. There also is no on-line check-in for the CA Resorts. Probably for that reason that the reservation number don't mesh.
